Apparently Lille have signed a right back, so in theory there is nothing stopping the deal from going through this week

It's Debuchy by the way mate. questions such as these are often better posted in Shearer's ebar.
Basically just think of the ebar as a place for smaller questions/topics to be posted so as not to clutter up the board.
Apprecaite you are new so just a wee point of guidance that's all.
It's great to see new members getting 'stuck in' though. :)

thanks, will take your advice!

The answer to both your 2 questions is no.

Did you not watch the Euros. He was shocking.

He was excellent in all of their group games until they came up against Spain, where he was utilised in a bizarre double left-back position with Réveillere by Blanc.

As a result, both players were all over the place and continuously treading on eachother's toes.

Wouldn't hold that against Debuchy.

Really, he struggled against Spain which can happen to anyone. Was certainly France's best player against England.

Really. Take your Mags blinkers off. If it wasn't public knowledge you were about to sign him you may have watched him without prejudice in his favour. He was probably ok (6/10) against England. The other games he was dreadful in.

PS MOTM as awarded by the papers and at the stadium on the day by UEFA was Nasri.

I thought he had a decent Euros. Didn't set the world alight but played well in the first two games. He was not so greta in the other two but there were some reasons for it. The team generally did not play well and tactically Blanc used him in the Spain game in a role which didn't suit. Did he look a world beater? You'd have to say no. Was he shocking? Certainly not.

I though he had a solid but unspectacular Euro campaign but to be honest in case people hadn't noticed we tend to scout players thoroughly and effectively so you can guarantee he's been on our radar for at least 6 months - a few internationals aren't going to affect our interest in him, we'll be more interested in his club form (which is a much better indicator as to how he'd be at Newcastle).

As for the MOTM, if in doubt give it to a player who scored - doesn't mean anything other than they're typical hacks.

One 'report' said "well over a year" - if you can believe 'reporters'.

I actually didn't believe we were going to get him at that point, surely if I was using mag blinkers then I would say Cabaye was France's best player in that game.

Shh, don't confound him with logic
