What about Bayern though, missing Gustavo and Alaba through suspension. Midfield looks ok though with only Muller being the inclusion not all imagined alongside Robben, Ribery and (perhaps) Schweinstiger.

However, I actually think Ramires and Miereles being banned is a bonus to you.

What do you mean by this? Ramires is a top player. I would have said he's not a great goal scorer but the semi final means I wont be that any more!

It's a tough one. If either of them are out, you could be scraping the barrel defensively. However, I actually think Ramires and Miereles being banned is a bonus to you.

It's a 2 horse race, you've beaten Barca, so anything could happen! anyone ruling chelsea out and saying you're going to get "thumped" is a complete idiot.

It will certainly be a huge test though. Playing Bayern on their own ground, in a final with very hostile fans and winning, is going to be some challenge. If you can do it, congratulations. After beating barca as well, you'll certainly derserve a place in the CL. However, it shouldn't be at the expense of us, and it could well be!

Therefore Im a German for the night <ok>

Not sure the game being at home for them is a big advantage as much as a disadvantage because the pressure is on them to win in their own ground, lets face it we are not given much of a chance because of certain players missing and as for hostile it really isnt that hostile in Germany, unlike going to places like Galatasary where they throw bags of piss at you !! I think I'm right in saying they have the same amount of allocation as us so the English are always gonna outsing the reserved germans.

true, the pressure is on, but it's fair to say the pressure is on both teams to win! They might have the pressure to win on their own ground, but chelsea's CL qualification next season is at stake!

Yeah, it won't be anywhere near as bad as Turkey, but its the little things that'll make the difference for the Bayern players. Knowing the pitch, home comforts etc etc.

Naturally like you say Kerry I want Bayern to win as it keeps us in the Champions League (or play offs at least!), had it of been us in 3rd place I wouldn't have minded who wins as long as I watched a good game.

If I'm honest, I do think Bayern will come out on top. I think their front 3 of Robben, Ribery and Gomez, SHOULD be too much for a make shift back four that I presume will consist of Bosingwa, Luiz, Cahill, Cole?

Cole is without a doubt the best LB in the world for me and has been for years, yet I think Bayern will toy with Bosingwa (IF he plays that is) by switching Robben and Ribery to attack him, I've never really seen a good solid performance from Bosingwa as you usually do with Cole/ Ivanovic. Cahill, brilliant young(ish) centre back but is he ready for a Champions League final vs Bayern Munich after usually being involved in a relegation scrap? I'm not sure, especially as he won't be alongside someone like Terry/ Ivanovic. As for Luiz, I've never been a fan, he seems to be a bit of a cult hero with you lot as he's got some important goals but for me, similar to Bosingwa, I've never seen a solid defensive game from him, you always feel there's a mistake to come and against the likes of Robben, Ribery and Gomez, you just can't afford that. To also add, Luiz and Cahill seem to be recovering from injuries, hardly the best game to come back into which could prove a problem.

Also think the loss of Ramires, who in my opinion is your best player, will be a crucial loss for the midfield battle, especially as Essien doesn't seem to be the same player that was once regarded as the best in his position. I know Bayern have Gustavo out too but I presume Tymoschuk (sp?) will play who can do a job at sitting in front of the back four.

Hoping for an attacking and entertaining game but can't deny I want Bayern to come out winners.

All good points but if you'd have seen Bayern's defending in their cup final last week (5 conceeded!!) you may realise they have defensive issues too. And we have Drogba, Mata, Lampard etc going forward who will cause them all sorts of problems at the back. Could be a few goals in it.

Ramires has been immense for Chelsea this season.
He's been moved about to perform specific tasks and done a very good job of it, whenever I've seen him.

Di Matteo will be extremely disappointed that he misses out, as he probably would've been asked to protect one of the full-backs against Bayern's dangerous wingers.
I can't see who's going to do a good job of that in his absence.

On the other hand, thats their collective **** performance out of the way, everybody has em!

perhaps i'm wrong with my views on Ramires and need to give him another look. The times i've seen him, I've just thought he's been a below par chelsea player. However, with so many of you saying the complete opposite, I must be wrong here. In which case, that's a massive result that he's out of the final!

<ok>

<laugh> welcome to the club! It's good to believe he is a good player, just means his absence is critical!

I think I must have just seen him on several bad occasions then. I'm amazed at how everyone else is saying the complete opposite, the same people that I normally agree with 100%. I've missed something major!!

So Kerry, what's your starting line up prediction then?

Granted their cup final performance was dire but I can't help but think that their minds were focused solely on the CL Final and therefore despite being a final, they perhaps didn't want over do it incase of injury. A Cup final is brilliant to play in but nothing comes close to the Champions League final, I just hope one day I can witness it with Spurs :) (one day!!! <laugh>)

Might also want to note that (according to BBC) they've only conceded 6 goals at the Allianz in the Bundelsiga this season (22 overall I think). Sounds like the Cup final was a one off to me, though anything can happen on the day.

To be fair Roo, when Ramires 1st joined Chelsea I thought he was crap.

Yet this season, think he's been up there with the best.

Even as a Spurs fan I would like to have seen Chelsea beaten and Arsenal qualify for the CL ahead of them, I think. I just can't stand Chelsea. Owner who has murdered scores of innocent people to gain his wealth then ruins English football with his blood money whilst hiring and firing managers on a whim. Captain is a racist, nasty thug. And to top it off they keep scoring goals that aren't goals (five in the last year or so and that's just in the three games I remember) and winning games they don't deserve to.

You've just got to hate Chelsea - it's the only thing that makes sense.

Sorry.

Don't apologise, It is beyond me how anybody would want the Chavs to win, even if we were third and Arsenal 4th.

Wether we got 3rd or 4th, would not influence me one bit in the sense that I would never support any other English club in europe....day in day out we laugh at each others downfalls, but all of a sudden we are all patriotic, or should I say nationalists and support Chelsea...even if wehad finished 3rd and Arsenal 4th... I would not want chelsea to win..come on Bayern!

Inclined to agree. It is a club competition and there is only one English club that I want to do well.

Back in the 70s, I had a soft spot for Chelsea; and I still do, if the truth be told, despite the likes of their mad-dog Russian oligarch owner, John 'hand 'em high" Terry, and the Chav fans on this forum. Plus, my best mate is a life-long supporter, and he is always very balanced with his views and expectations, for both Chelsea and Spurs.

However, nothing will bring me to support them in the CL Final. Absolutely nothing.

COYBH!
