England squad
Goalkeepers:
Scott Carson (Bursaspor) Shocking choice, Ruddy is in-form and should be rewarded, saving against 3rd-rate strikers in Turkey shouldn't impress Agreed
Joe Hart (Manchester City) Great potential and already a reliable england player Top class keeper
Robert Green (West Ham United) Give him another chance, better than Stockdale for sure Agreed
Defenders:
Gary Cahill (Chelsea) Give him a chance, he'll improve with Terry being injured at Chelsea
Ashley Cole (Chelsea) World class Was top class now starting to creak a little
Leighton Baines (Everton) Reliable back-up Agreed
Glen Johnson (Liverpool) Putting in better performances, getting confidence back In possession but would prefer Richards or Kyle Walker. Don't understand why Pearce has gone for so many full-backs
Phil Jones (Manchester United) most exciting defensive prospect, great career ahead Agreed
Micah Richards (Manchester City) Give him a chance, unfairly frozen out by Capello Top calss - should have been in for ages
Chris Smalling (Manchester United) Future star, and long-term CB partner for Jones Agreed
Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur) Future star and mainstay of the RB position Agreed
Please consider Naughton, he has done brilliantly this season, and he wouldn't let anyone down Obviously but would rrather keep him under the radar to improve our chances of signing him permanently - can't see him joining us if he were on the England fringes as others with deeper pockets may come calling.
NO NO NO to the dinosaurs Terry and Ferdinand ever returning
Midfielders:
Gareth Barry (Manchester City) Old, slow, should retire internationally Proven not to be good enough over the years and keeping better players out of the squad
Tom Cleverley (Manchester United) Shame he is injured, strong potential Agreed
Stewart Downing (Liverpool) Improving performances as of late, encouraging No goals or assits this season. Not great and in awful form - what does this guy have to do to be dropped?
Adam Johnson (Manchester City) Must continue to find match-time to be considered I think he has a lot of potential but is being held back by warming the bench at City
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) Strong leadership qualities, good vision Agreed if he keeps fit
James Milner (Manchester City) Must continue to find match-time to be considered definitely a better shout than Barry
Scott Parker (Tottenham Hotspur) One guaranteed name on the 1st XI sheet Agreed
Ashley Young (Manchester United) Over-rated Have to disagree slightly - I reckon he's pretty decent on his day just a bit injury-prone
Theo Walcott (Arsenal) Slowly but surely, more encouraging performances arriving Despite a decent performance yesterday not enjoying the best of seasons and a bit lucky to be in the squad.
Please consider Oxlade-Chamberlain and obviously, Wilshere is a shoe-in when he returns
Forwards:
Darren Bent (Aston Villa) How many chances does this waste of space need? Dispatch. Completely agree - clearly not international material - needs 10 chances to score one goal
Fraizer Campbell (Sunderland) Worth a look in Only played a handful of games this season. Decent prospect but not exactly going to bully international defences
Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea) Future potential, greater than Welbeck Happy for him to be in the squad
Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Shoe-in, world class, match-winner Obviously agreed
Danny Welbeck (Manchester United) Needs another season at Man Utd, not ready for England atm IMO Good point
Please consider either Holt or Graham, they deserve a call-up in recognition of their hard graft, and neither would disappoint
I know we keep on sayig it but what exactly do Holt/Ruddy have to do even to be given a once over at International level? How many tournaments can England go to with players full of potential but not the finished article on top form? whatever Ruddy says publicly he can't be pleased to be behind a Champoinship keeper and one playing for a mid-table Turkish side. How Frasier Campbell/Bent get in ahead of Holt/Graham is, I imagine beyond most people. Still at least from a selfish point of view if our players are not called up they won't get injured or tired on International duty and will help us next season.
