Yes! Next season......unless we don't get our targets and it's only 3 years to worry...cause Barca won't want him enough to come in early....

Because I don't mean to deflate anyone but if he was that good... well the offer would have been in early.. tempt a "small" club with decent money early enough tgat we thought we could buy a replacement....i mean I saw wums saying 60m was his price...so that in early July?

Maybe barca were just doing what we are accused of: chasing and upping bids on a player they knew wasn't leaving....

Barcelona are desperate because of Neymar leaving, hence the late bid.

Irony is, I'm guessing we would have accepted the recent bids had Barca did it earlier.

It is now a damage limitation for Coutinho. Silence is golden.

As long as a deal is struck in June or before the window opens

Do feel the part of the reason for rejecting is the lack of time left.

BBC allowing Crooks to be a obtuse moron again.
"Those of you who regularly read my team of the week will know how much I think of Mane's Liverpool team-mate Philippe Coutinho. However, with Mane looking so impressive at the moment it begs the question why are Liverpool deliberating over Coutinho's proposed move to Barcelona?

It seems to me that Mane is the perfect replacement to take over from the Brazilian as Liverpool's main man, never mind that £100m plus is simply too good to turn down for any player, never mind one who only cost you £8.5m in the first place.

Liverpool is a wonderful club with a magnificent stage and they are very capable of finding another Coutinho. In fact, I already think they have one and his name is Sadio Mane"

    And from the same article
"Salah's arrival on to the scene at Anfield is further proof that the deal for Coutinho is simply too good to turn down - so get on with it."

    a) There is no deliberating, just rejections
    b) Perhaps if Barca offered to actually pay the £100+m, instead of bits of it over forever and then little bits more if Coutinho is able to sprout wings and fly.
    c) Coutinho and Mane play in different positions, meaning having both means having a better team. A better team means better results, better finish in the league, better players coming in and an even better team eventually leading to winning things. I know this is a hard concept for a Spurs man.
    d) Its about not bending over to be rodgered every time Barca come calling

    Look the wums dont count.

The reality is anyone who pays any attention knows he literally carried lfc over the line last year and took a giantbstrp in his level over the season. 60mil wouldnt by a dog it seem right now.

If you look at Barca and their situation....

    1. They have been looking at coutinho for 2 years

    2. They consider him a left side forward not a cm.

    3. They never expected to lose neymar.

    4. They have their eyes on Messi and is contract.

    5. Barca are trying to finance nou camp upgrade.

So.... They really didn't think they needed him in June. I am fully sure all contact between agent and Barca lead coutinho to sign a 5 year deal here in March and in June they were clearly committed to lfc.

Coutinho is realistically max 90mil.... if lukaku is so is coutinho... but you can offer any number you like if its on tge never never.

Lfc never got a real offer. The headline numbers and reality have been quite different. I would love to know the real deal on dembele

Crooks, like so many "experts", isn't worth reading. They all just regurgitate received wisdoms and spout opinions with the minimum of research and very little insight.
