No, we need more fans/supporters who are going to put you pricks in your place and stop ruining my club talking bollox about how great we are when we are, in fact, nothing special ..... and going backwards fast. God Bless THIERRY HENRY !!!
Your club - don't make me laugh. You only act like a fan when things are going well. Threaten to beat up any school kids lately?
Let me be the first to say it, but I am bloody hope I am wrong, but putting today's goal aside Henry won't be of much help to this Arsenal squad. Many are scared to face the fact and is afraid to call a spade a spade when it comes to a legend but Henry no longer have what it take to drag along the woeful Arsenal team. His pace is no longer there, and his confidence on the ball is not what it use to be . Anyone have been watching NY Red Bulls and know about football will understand what i am talking about. I said to a friend a few days ago that if Henry performance for Arsenal far exceed what he does for NY RedBulls he should be (sued). Let me also put it straght I am one of Henry and Arsenal greatest fan but I truely can't be blind when the truth is there to see. I must say Henry performance for Redbulls for most part have been mediocre and for be it's embarrassing, knowing the quality of player he's suppose to be.
Half Full, there you go again, chattin bollox. When we were doing "well" all I saw was papering over of the cracks, we were still poor and I said as much and lo and behold we went into another mini crisis against teams at the bottom of the table. This Arsenal team is poor and I am not going to change my tune until I see changes, significant changes to the squad, small changes to the first team. We have far too many small issues when put together they turn into a big issue. As for beating up school kids, fantastic, but it seems to be ok when you and your bum chums gang up on others on this board, you aren't the bullies. I call people out, simple as that. If you can't stand the heat ...... STFU.
Yes it is MY club, I was born and raised in Holloway, I went through the hype of the "derby weekend" in the "manor" as a kid and adult, I lived it, I stood on the terraces at Highbury, I went to Highbury when we were utterly crap, I've had to deal with the traffic issues all my life. it is MY club and I've watched it grow into a top club in world football. You and the others like you who are happy with mediocrity are spoiling it, the club shouldn't be allowed to be doing what they are doing. 1 player, Thierry Henry, who many fans thought/think is no longer good enough, has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that, there is NO substitute for quality !!!!!!! WE need quality, not the mediocrity that fans like you are happy to have.
Hothead- I too want to speak the plain truth, even at a wonderful moment like TH showing us a moment of magic, and sadly the other side to him. We continue to make all this slow build up play, with little creativity or cutting edge. Thank god for RVP who on his own papers the cracks- and convinces the fools all is well with the world.....
Bergkamp - what annoys me is the OP simply wrote what everyone thinks. If they don't want to see it, skip the thread, nobody put a gun to their head to read it. I simply skip the threads that have them bumming each other on them, who are they to tell people what they should and shouldn't be writing and when they should or shouldn't be writing it. The OP wasn't being offensive to anyone, if they are happy being delusional then that is up to them, I and yourself and the other "realists" on this board are happy being just that - realists.
Just a wee bit of perspective here folks but lest we forget last night we were without: Sagna, Santos, Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Djourou (arguably no loss), Gibbs, Wilshere, Gervinho and RVP. Hell, even Diaby would have probably been in contention or on the bench were he ever healthy! Here's the starting line-up I'd currently go with, the missing players last night in bold: --------------------Chessers------------------- Sagna---Mertesacker---Vermaelen---Santos --------------Arteta-------Song--------------- -------------------Wilshere-------------------- ---Walcott--------------------------Gervinho- -----------------------RVP-------------------- Yes we were our usual wasteful self but I think it's safe to say we're currently ravaged by injury and far from our first team. I appreciate we shouldn't need our full strength squad to beat Leeds at home in the cup (no disrespect intended) and we didn't. Even with our weaker squad we bossed the game and, in fairness, I couldn't have written a better outcome for it!
Why we Arsenal fans first excuse for mediocre performance is injury. I believe who's so ever where the jersey should be expected to contribute 100% to the team. Every team can come up with the same excuses. That the reason why teams have an extended squad. Remember how we used to boast of future with our young guns. If I can remember it was only 2 years ago. No doubt we have degress but Wenger with all is short coming have done real well with this squad, which to my opinion isn't that but, needs a little coaching.
