Today we've signed 22 year old striker Deane Smalley from Oldham Athletic. He spent most of last season on loan at Chesterfield scoring 12 goals from 39 appearances. I'm struggling to work out how all our forwards can play together, unless someone is leaving?

Very good signing, don't need Maclean now. It will be interesting who Wilder gets in at goal. Clarke was exceptional in his first season because he was being pushed by Turley. I feel Eastwood was signed as a backup to Clarke and never put him under pressure. We need an experienced keeper, not a promising newcomer. But what do I know !!

Deano had a modest goal scoring record for Oldham and was in and out of the team on a regular basis. In the latter part of his career he tended to play as an attacking right-winger rather than an out-and-out striker. Nevertheless, he did have a good goal scoring record at Chesterfield. He does look the part and will give his best at the start of his Oxford career. However, at Oldham he was prone to fade from games. Maybe he has found his level, and that he is best suited to a good League 2 side.

Does anybody know how much the undisclosed fee was?

Good luck for next season as you’re my bet for promotion. Don’t let me down!!

We still need another keeper, another midfielder and a decent centre half, I just wish the Duberry rumours would go away
