Before coming out here, I have been going to most U23's home games, and frankly miss seeing them play more than go to the KCOM and watching the first team. When you see what impact Harry Wilson had, and as if have seen with Bowen, playing more U23's probably would have done a better job.

What’s Wilson got to do with the U23’s?

He's an U 23 from Liverpool, the point was that the younger players at least bring some energy to the proceedings.

Yes he’s from Liverpool, but Aina & Tomori are from Chelsea U23’s, they also aren’t ours & are regularly singled out for not being up to it.
Or is it only attacking players that get credit? Not that we’ll see Wilson back for a while with his injury.

The Club is delighted to announce that Billy Chadwick has signed his first professional contract with the Tigers.

The Hull-born central midfielder, who turned 18 in January, has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal to commit his future to the Club until at least the summer of 2019, signing the deal at the KCOM Stadium on Friday afternoon in the presence of Academy Manager Jon Beale, along with his father and agent - former Tiger Lee Philpott.

Chadwick first joined the Tigers' Academy at the age of 11, progressing through the youth ranks to sign a two-year scholarship deal ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The current campaign has seen the youngster play for both the Under-18s and Under-23s, scoring three goals in 15 games for John Anderson's youth team with a further 13 appearances and one goal for Jon Beale's Development Squad.

Speaking after putting pen-to-paper on the contract, Chadwick said: "Obviously I'm delighted to sign professional terms with my hometown club.

"Getting this deal has been something that I've worked towards since I first joined the Academy at the age of 11.

"I've worked so hard to get to where I am today - overcoming a ruptured ACL when I was in the Under-16s. But, I came back from that injury stronger - both physically and mentally - and I'm over the moon that all that hard work has now paid off.

"I would like to thank all the coaches that have played a part in my development over the years as well. They've all been excellent with me and I can't thank them enough for helping me to get to where I am today.

"I must stress that the hard work won't stop now though. It's great to get this deal but my aim is to continue progressing in all areas of my game.

"I've been fortunate enough to step up and play for the Under-23s this season and the aim now is to gain more experience at that level between now and the end of the current campaign and kick on again next season."

Didn't know he was Philpott's lad.

Lee Philpott? Crikey he was ****e. Free signing from Lincoln and surely an inductee to the 'least memorable' thread.

Did he stick around in Hull, post contract, thus his son ending up with us? Or did he just get friendly with the natives whilst he was here?
