I was thinking tonight although we have sold Nolan we have so much deadwood to get rid of. The likes of guthrie, smith, ranger (rightly or wrongly), best, lovekrands, perch, Routledge. Apologies if I have missed any. I think its important for us to get rid of these players as much as it is to bring players in. I genuinely like the look of our side for next season so far, but would be dissapointed if we did not add further. I think we are going to try to be a more technical team which is promising. I just think we need to shed those players and give the chance for the younger players to step up more next year. What do you all think?

No, strongly disagree. Best = deadwood???!!! <yikes>

Our best striker(post-Carroll) is now considered DEADWOOD????????

I think Guthrie is decent enough for cover and should stay unless we get offers of like 4/5m for him (which won't happen).

Ranger I want to see loaned to see if he can actually perform if he is given a first team opportunity, and it will probably make him respect the game more.

Smith can go, I like him but it just hasn't worked out and I'm sure he'd like to go back to Leeds.

Routledge can go if he really wants but also I wouldn't mind keeping him as he is pretty good back up!

I actually don't mind Perch being here, he can play in like 4 different positions and I think we've seen the worst of him to be honest and he's better than we take him for

Keep Best & Lovenkrands, they did a lot better than people credit them for last season.

Guthrie and Best simply aren't deadwood. Both on low wages and I'd be happy for either to start a game (I'd be a bit pissed if they were playing every game, but they won't)

Smith can go, Ranger can go (preferably on loan) Shola + Lover can go IF replacements brought in. Routledge can go as he'd have a lot of competition. Don't care about Perch. he's utility cover, that's all he is. doubt he's on big wages either way.

Best + Guthrie can stay. I really quite like Guthrie!

And I think it's a matter of, Nolan wanted to leave due to the 5 year contract thing. So shipped him out first rather than leave it ongoing for a while. People haven't necessarily come in for any of these players yet. Freed up wages too, with Nolan.

If anyone needs to go, they will. I'm not fussed about shipping players out. If they stay, it makes no difference to me! :) As long as other players come in, obviously.

This entirely, Guthrie could still improve a lot as well, he's only 24(?)

Also I think Ranger at least deserves a loan before we cast him off, there's no harm whatsoever.

I think shifting 7 players at once is too much.

Smith, Ranger, Perch and Xisco, ONCE we have another striker in. The others are good enough for the bench.

ps. Are you Ben10's older brother?

Looked solid against Man U! Especially since he was playing through an injury! Really did us proud.

<ok>

I'd be happy for both of those to stay, to be honest i wouldn't mind Loverman staying another season or so as well but as for the rest of them

Routledge-hasn't really done anything great for us in the prem and barring injurys is unlikely to get much game time next year
Smith-Loved him but he just cant do it anymore
Perch-the less said the better
Ranger-Can't see the point in selling him. Season long loan would be best option IMO

I'll add in Xisco who we can all pretty much agree then if he's not gona play get him out

Oh yeah, forgot about Xisco...
Xisco should go, it just hasn't worked out for him and I don't know much about the stories of him not trying or faking injury but it's clear that he will only get better at another team and we need to free up wages - though he might just want to stay for the $$$

Anyone know how long he has left on his contract?

Best = NOT DEADWOOD. At current he's our second best striker, and will provide excelletn cover, especially fiwe get in another.
Guthrie = NOT DEADWOOD. Good cover midfielder, especially if we play 5 midfielders.
Rout = NOT DEADWOOD. Good wing cover and has pace which will be a telling factor later in the season. Wouldn't mind selling if a decent offer came in.
Ranger = Needs loaning out for a season.
Smith = DEADWOOD
Perch = DEADWOOD
Lovenkrands = Possibly a good cover striker for next season, esp if Ranger is loaned. Beter than Shola anyway.
Shola = DRIFTWOOD = Doesn't even qualify as deadwood, because that implies it was once capable of doing something.
Xisco = VERY EXPENSIVE DEADWOOD

I won't let it :bandit: Edit posts and we'll say no more, no one else will know :bandit:

I keep reading wages are a new problem..............so why don't we sell Smith and Xisco and save £120,000 per week?????

Oh, I forgot, we can't cos they're ****e!

In all seriousness though, I am honestly not too bothered if anyone stays. Smithy could do with going obviously because of wages. But I'm not entirely sure how big wages everyone else is on? If Smithy goes and the rest stay, what's the harm? The only harm will be to them, of course, as a lot of them I imagine will want to play regular football, obviously.

Quite like them to stay too. Get quite attached to players really..

Except Perch. Go away Perch.
