That'll inspire plenty of jealousy. But to me that level of spending is reckless and damaging to other Clubs at this level. It should be possible for a shrewd Club with good recruitment to win promotion with two or three decent signings of maybe £1m to £2m each. Splurging ten million pounds on one man in the third tier is corrosive in my view.
Birmingham were bidding for Celtic & Rangers players yesterday. They landed two, but I’m not sure what that says about Scottish football. Looking at their squad, they should walk this league with 100 plus points. It’s a Championship squad. Their manager is an unknown and the Yanks will replace him in short order if Brum flounder now . Anything can happen in football, but I think clubs like us , Huddersfield and Bolton are playing for the places.
