When Kane's out we change our formation, we play a false 9 where Son and Alli share the striking duties but also keep to their AM roles.

Hit ten goals in three games while Kane was out last season, inlclduing beating Chelsea away (which Kane returned in - after we'd hit the three goals).

Season before we beat Man City, Middlesbrough, Burnley and one or two others when Kane was out as well. Think Son his about 4 goals in that period.

Back up strikers just don't seem to work for us as they can't seem to emulate the way Kane plays in any way. That's why our AMs step up as they already know the system and what to do. If we're to use an actual back up striker, our best bet is to probably throw Kazaiah Sterling in, our young academy striker.

How long is Son away for ?

So, he’s basically a defensive midfielder? That’s not Grealish’s game.

The rest is irrelevant

... the relevant point is age not position <doh> ... Grealish is not some kid being poached for potential ... he should have shown way more by now ... how old is Rashford ... how old is Lingard?

Lacazette started well and then carried an injury. Looks sharp now though. Aubameyang is a better striker, but like I said, I'm more than happy with those two as main and back up striker. They can even play together.
I don't think it's a very good example for the subject, though.
Both were signed during the last campaign and it remains to be seen whether either will accept a backup role.
As you mention, they might both end up starting, so neither would be an example of a good backup.
That would put Welbeck on the list.

Lingard's 25. He's older than Lukaku.

22 and the best player at a big club like Villa... I'd say he's shown something.

Aubameyang will be first choice CF in a front 3 for Emery, with Lacazette as back up. But it's not a strict order in that way. We'll probably play games with Aub out wide and Lacazette central too.

Welbeck isn't even a striker tbh, he's a WF. About time we offloaded him really.

Fair play ...looks younger ... but Rashford then ... my point being that if Spurs want to push on they need to add proven quality ... not gamble on 'potential' ...
Yeah, we did that with Llorente. Didn't work.

We need to bring in somebody that suits the system and won't expect to walk into the starting XI.
That or start crossing the ball when Kane's not playing and we pick one of our other strikers.
Neither looks likely.

You've still got Janssen <whistle>

He’s still young at 22, ffs!

It’s just more of your silly attempts at point scoring.

He’s had his problems, which I’ve mentioned countless times, but seems to be over them now.

Not at all ... just always think he has been well over hyped ... if he should prove me wrong I will gladly hold my hands up ...
