it's just after watching Pardew say that on SSN, this was on BBC

hi guys, what's going on? Any word if our bid for Marriappa has got the green light. Any other moves on the cards? Just really want a cb, would take Marriappa he's quick and is Watfords captain. Keep me informed please boys although i'll have ssn on in less than an hour :D

According to Lee Ryder, the "info" that we hadn't bid was a breif to the journo's in Watford by the club. I'll trust what Pardew says first before some people at Watford who are trying like mad to get a player sold at double his worth.
