De Guzman came on for the second half of Netherland's match against Italy. Great to have another international footballer in our squad. I really hope he moves to us on a permanent basis!

De Guzman is a class act but like others in our midfield needs to beef up and be stronger in the tackle. Had a chat with him in Tesco's and he's very slightly built though he doesn't look it so much on the pitch.

Not so fast. Firstly, it's not just up to ML and the Board. The loaning club has to agree. Secondly, we've had loanees that didn't work out in the past. We have one currently - Schechter. Without a crystal ball you can't commit to buy that far in advance. As for January, we're back to the other club agreeing. There are other parties involved.

The club are gambling, and we shall see if it will be.....

A. A DG situation with Villarreal (currently 9th in a financially poor Segunda division in a financially poor Spanish economy) having to sell at a cut price to at least get some dosh for a player who does not want to return.

or

B. A Gylfi situation with Villareal (only 1 point of a play off place for promotion to LaLiga) having a host of clubs bidding for a young,Prem proven, goal scoring, Dutch international midfielder.

Time will tell if it pays off, but as I said, hopefully the board already have some 'agreement' in place with Villarreal over first dibs.

Do you hang around all week in likely places where Swansea players might go? "I met Rangel here and I met De Guzman there." I've never seen any Swans players apart from on the pitch. :(

[This could be because I don't live in Swansea, haha]

Yes, that's right, I wait behind the deli counter then pop up. Frightens the **** out of them. <laugh>

When I lived on the Marina I used to bump into a lot of them. Not so much these days.
