I understood what he meant.
While the press tried to make out it was just rambling, as he was having a pop at them. :)

I speak in riddles sometimes mate and sometimes put quips in about my past, knowing people will pick up on them and enlighten them. It's a funny world Bri but it doesn't make me laugh anymore..

Former football agent De Fanti’s departure does not necessarily mean Sunderland will abandon the director of football model and Gwyn Williams, Leeds United’s former technical director and the man who brought Gus Poyet to England when he was Chelsea’s chief scout, has already been mentioned as a possible replacement.

But Sunderland are reviewing the situation and that is likely to mean that the role of current chief scout Valentino Angeloni - the last of the decision-making triumvirate which included De Fanti and Di Canio - will inevitably come under scrutiny.

The likelihood is that ex-Udinese and Inter Milan chief scout will also follow his countrymen out of the club in the near future.

SUNDERLAND owner Ellis Short has started the process of appointing a new director of football at the Stadium of Light following his decision to sack Roberto De Fanti yesterday.Short acted to bring an end to De Fanti‘s seven months in the job after seeing Sunderland spend the majority of the campaign rooted to the foot of the Premier League after a summer of huge change. But the Wearside outfit’s American chairman is convinced the director of football model, adopted for the first time by the club, is still the way to go."">There is no great urgency to bring in a replacement, but he will be considering the options available to him and is likely to liaise with head coach Gus Poyet. One candidate to have already emerged for the role is former Leeds United technical director Gwyn Williams, who was at Elland Road during Poyet’s time alongside Dennis Wise.
