Been saying that for a long time now mate and Sunderland wouldn't be Safc without a scapegoat. The way people turn on a tanner is really what pisses me off in life. Like I said, well done for showing the man some respect.. <ok>

I doubt you'd be saying that if we still had just the 1 point tbh ........... the amount of players brought in was ludicrous imo.

Probably was but he got them here didn't he? I think the plan was to ship a few more out but if you are on a mega money contract doing **** all, would you go?

Has he actually gone? If so it could all be about the Ji deal, that wouldn't surprise me as that deal has dodgy written all over it.

But we're not on 1 point. Makes that whole sentence point-less (see what I did there). Never had you down as a 'what if' and turning it into a negative sort of person. What if we were relegated last season? Doesn't matter does it cause we were'n't <doh>. 14 players is all well and good when some of them were development squad (The press didn't include any other teams development signings in reporting transfers. Chelsea signed almost as much as we did in that case) Don't forget we started July with Bardo and Cuellar our ONLY fit defenders. We needed numbers. The players who have featured regularly have more than played their part in dragging us right out of the ****. Players who've barley played are just that. They haven't contributed to our downfall or fortunes.

Your gripe seems pointless and completely irrelevant to me smug.

I think it will be more about the Argie lads to be honest.

Then again it is a long time since Ellis sacked some one.

Who knows with this one? We must either have someone lined up.

    He has completely ****ed up

Or we are doing away with a DOF?

The club could furnish us with a little more info.......

I hate to disagree but I disagree ......... I think the club should make statements only when the situation is totally clear.

Am I missing something? What's dodgy about it? Lad went out on loan and did well so I assume PDC gave him another shot at the title which he messed up cos he didn't fancy throwing himself in to a header in the danger zone. New manager gave him a clean slate like all the rest, he hasn't responded and someone is willing to give us a fee so let's move him on and free up a wage. Also, we have Ki (for now) so hopefully that will keep up shirt sales in Korea. ;)

    Sorry mate, I missed your post ........ I've had a few <doh>

It's not negative at all, in my mind anyway.

I just think that having such a 'highly regarded' man should've resulted in better than bottom of the league behind the likes of Palace, West Ham, Fulham, Cardiff, Hull etc.

Bringing players in who would obviously not fit in was wrong imo. We were almost relegated last season and needed more immediate action than a 'team for the future'.

I'm 59 years old this year mate, I don't have much future left <laugh>

Let the Gus get his own players in, without trying to convince some fanny fart.

The french lads and cabral were rash and rushed. They joined the same same week as Valentino and PDC was demanding numbers. I've not really got a problem with any of the other signings at the moment. PDC always maintain much like Gus does that he had say on transfers. Di Fanti's job was never to identify the players though he did have final say and was issued with negotiating the deals.

I suggest he pulled the plug on a deal for Hudds and Perruzi through over caution. Eliss has remembered this (esp with Hudds playing so well this season) and now Di Fanti has done the same (or tried) with one of the Argie lads that Gus clearly wants. I think what's led to his dismissal is too much caution regarding primary targets. Combine that with Ellis seeing the Gus knows the game. I've just got s feeling Di Fanti was objecting to the Santiago Vergini transfer, as he's in town to sign. Maybe Ellis wasn't prepared to let another top target escape because of him digging his heels in?

I honestly don't think that the man had much money to work with but his brief was that almost all of the first team needed to go. As we had not many takers for the dross we had, we ended up in the ****. I think a few of the signings were expected to hit the ground running but literally just hit the ground. That coupled with PDC's (still admire the man) strict regime and focus on ultimate athletes just sank them a bit further for them making a premier league input. Tell you what lads, I'm a handy fighter still at 56, a bloody cracking photographer but you stick me in Sardinia with some guy shouting this and that in a language I know **** all about then I would look like a rabbit in headlights. When the fists flew like I'd be in there..<ok>
