Why do people keep hiring Hodgson ffs? I was baffled like this with Souness as well. He was total ****e everywhere he went yet people kept hiring him, relegation threatened club, after relegation threatened club kept hiring Souness, and now same thing is happening with Hodgson. He is pants, people, wake up.......
Shame how it takes little things to get a manager fired. -A misplaced (and misguided) pass by a palace midfielder -Several barn door misses Burnley were completely dominated by Palace yesterday and if they had lost 4-1 they could have had no complaints. Scott Dan should have nightmares about his misses especially that last header when all he had to do was to plant an easy header into the goal but all he did was to glance it wide. If the board were not going to fire De Boer after a draw or a win then they shouldn't have fired him after this false result.
to be fair to roy and CP, i think that's his level. In a way, he's pretty Big Sam-esque but even more dour but Roy keeps teams up if i remember correctly. He kept Fulham up when they were dire and he did a pretty good job for west brom too. Souness was just abysmal regardless of whether the teams he took over were good or not
I wonder if it was a matter of De Boer wanting to change everything really quickly and he's pissed people off?
They brought him in to change the way they play though. and they've bottled it after 4 games. Parish is a prize tit.
Yeah that was my understanding as well but I wonder if the reality of that has put some people out and they've been vocal against him.
Parish has bowed to social media pressure like a weak backed pussy. He was even at that game yesterday, a game that they were incredibly unfortunate to lose, and could have easily have won it by 3 or 4 if it wasn't for some great keeping and some woeful finishing. That was not the performance of a side that was either tanking on the manager or are simply dire.
This is a complete load of nonsense you are talking here, as the last 3 teams Hodgson has taken over who where relegation threatened, he kept them all up and eventually got them to top half of the table finishes. Blackburn, Fulham and West Brom. When it comes to keeping a team up, there are very few better than Hodgson, probably only Allardyce and Pulis you could argue have a better record at it, and neither are available. So for the situation Palace are in they have picked the best man available. Yeah he is going to play ****e football, but in the situation they are in it is just about staying in the division. Some may laugh that it's to early to panic for them, but the defeats have come against mainly the lesser teams in the division, and they now play 3 of the top teams in their next 4 games, so they are likely to be in a desperate situation after 8 games. So Hodgsons well organised defensive style is exactly what they will be needing. Even if it is boring.
He was sacked by Blackburn with them rock bottom of the league mate. He was also dog **** at West Brom. His career seems to have been made solely on finishing 7th with Fulham once, which is pretty good, but a total one off, and they went straight back down to like 14th the season after. He is entirely mediocre at best, utter dog **** at worst.
I haven't really paid much attention to Roy since leaving Liverpool. When he first joined us I looked into his history and noted a pattern. One good management stint followed by one disastrous one. Good... Disastrous... Good... Disastrous. Either way he won't be at Palace long, besides ruining England, he never stays in one place long. If he does well then he will sign somewhere else. If he does bad he will get sacked. They gave De Boer 4 games... Can't see the sticking with Roy if he's stinking all year.
