    I know it's a bit late in the day, but that's how you'd get past any rules about being registered at 2 clubs. There's nothing in the rules that says loan players have to train with the team they've joined on loan. I'm sure we even took a kid on loan/trial from PL side and he still trained with them for 4 out of 5 days (1 might have been a physio/rest day but he was only with us for a maximum of 1 plus match days and still played for their reserves). If we wanted Daws as a coach and another team wanted to play him we could have just signed him as a player-coach and loaned him out with a condition he was with us for however many days a week his coaching duties would dictate.

    Good luck to him at Scunthorpe anyway.
