Can you imagine what Levy must be like to negotiate with? MD of a multimillion pound industry, a first class degree from Cambridge (they do not hand those out easily) and the benefit of knowing the sports industry with all his various investments. I would think hard nosed is a massive understatement.

That said, Amit and Tony are nobody's fools so let's hope a deal can be found to suit all.

He should have sold Modric to Chelsea last summer and he would have got £8m more than the £27m they are getting now from Real Madrid.

I asked David McIntyre ( QPR journo ) on twitter about this and he said he wouldn't be surprised if it went through. it was his story in the 1st place. he wouldn't expand on it though. he just said look for us to be very busy this week.

Levy wasn't the problem, the fee was agreed but the deal stalled on the bonuses offered...

Can understand why he didnt...pushing for Euro place and not wanting one of their best players to go to another Prem team, especially a London one.

I think Levy is trying to save face by announcing a 'partnership' with Real Madrid so they get young players coming over for PL experience, but he was eventually forced to sell to fund replacements...

The fact is we need him ! For some reason personal terms stalled the deal - hopefully MH will pull the stops out this week to land him.....
Onwards and upwards lads ....

Just like a few others before him, whilst there are a few days left he'll hold out for:

A. A better deal.
B. Another club to come in for him (Maybe offering CL football, more money, in an area he would rather be ... etc)
C. AVB to come along and kiss his ......

If I were him that's exactly what I'd do too!
Everyone knows we're loaded and the perception is that we're panicking due to the Swansea result. Everyone will be out to screw us and we need to rely on the experienced guys in charge to get things right!
