Banned initially for 3 days for striking the 2nd horse 3 times in the face with his whip and then a further 14 days for improper conduct after his reaction to the stewards decision.

The race replay on Sporting Life just goes on long enough to show the head on after the race, looks very, very dodgy to me - Russell appears to strike Solar Heat 3 times full in the face.

Make up your own minds but this looks blatant, and not what the sport needs. I'm pretty disgusted to be honest.

It was pretty blatant of him to be fair. He deserves the punishment he got. And could learn to take it like a man rather than throwing a little tantrum. And she was alongside him when he started to hit the horse not up his hole.
