What pisses me off is that we had a weak squad.... let HBA, MYM and now Santon go... and are now potentially going to loan our several fringe players to Rangers.
It's almost as it Fatty wants us to really go through the ringer....

The squad is incredibly weak, it's fairly implausible that we sit in 11th. That said, though, not one of those was with the squad anyway, so getting rid of them all for money does make a modicum of sense. But what fatty gets wrong is in thinking we've "coped" (by currently sitting in 11th) without them, so why replace them? When I think every other owner, without exception, would see these sales as a good opportunity to purchase and galvanise the squad, we can't be fcking bothered. We're getting beaten to the signing of Delli Ali by Spurs, and I would bet the house on that being a money decision.

Thing is Carver's not in a position to push back at all, he'd work with North Shields' first team if it meant he had his "dream job". So he's not going to say "hang on a minute - you do realise I have two centre backs available, and one of them is Mike Williamson". He's going to be asked "can you cope if we just keep selling" and he's going to give it "way aye, Mr Ashley, nee problem canny lad - I'll gan oot and grab some stottie's with the cash".

    just read this

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The girlfriend of outgoing Newcastle United defender Davide Santon has revealed that her spouse was "pushed out" of the club due to financial issues.

Santon announced earlier today that he is leaving the Magpies to rejoin former club Inter Milan, thanking supporters of the North-East outfit for all their support during his three-and-a-half years at the club.

However, Chloe Sanderson, the Italy international's other half, has had her say on the surprise deal by claiming that she is "disgusted" by the way Newcastle went about things.

"Just to put it out there, Davide declined Inter Milan's first offer but was pushed out by Newcastle United to leave," she said on Twitter.

"Disgusted with how Davide has been treated, fully fit for a while now with no chance to play - a club whose only intentions are to make £££."

Santon has made just one appearance in all competitions for the Toon this season.

it would not surprise me one bit

If those tweets from his lass are the real deal, then we are even more pathetic than I thought. Just pure penny pinching. Santon has said on many occasions he'd love to stay here, yet we force him out? We know Carver has zero say in all this so this is purely down to the Ashley/Charnley axis. Just shifting a high earner thinking we can have Haidara and Dummett on next to nowt. There is a reason they earn so little...

"I am happy here - I still have one and a half years left on my contract and I will probably have to speak to Newcastle soon. I’ve always said I am happy here."

Tough Davide, you can take your loyalty and stick it. I can get good money for you and pay these two young buffoons less put together than you get. More money for Mikey, yeehah.

I think you need to wind your neck in fella. I wouldn't have chosen to release a player whose not being played but whose got potential to help the team.
We might not agree on stuff, but is there need for negative personal comments about intelligence?

I could just about stomach this if the club was cash strapped and in financial trouble, but it is not, so why risk cutting the playing staff down to the bone like this? Yes we have dome youngsters coming through but l doubt the team can compete in the. PL with too many of them without the balance of the more experienced senior players around them. A couple of injuries and an unforeseen "red card" away from disaster. Plus the more this continues the less likely we are to attract any talent when Fatty eventually has to buy us out of the mire again. So very very tedious

This is only an incorrect conclusion from the point of view of anyone interested in football.

From a monetary point of view, unless you are going to be in the Champions League the only important thing is not being relegated. We can sell Santon and not be relegated, or even come close. Therefore, from MA's point of view, it is entirely correct that we can cope without him.
