Just saw this on his Twitter. He posted 14 hrs ago but I only saw it now. Sorry if it has been mentioned elsewhere but this is really pleasing & exciting news if really true.:

A few people have tweeted best of luck in Vermont with my knee surgery. I'm not having surgery just to clear that my knee is all good and a big thanks to everyone wishing me well.

To answer second question Yes I will be fit for the start of the season!

Good, does that mean Bruce won't be looking at a new C/M now?

I like Meyler good @ tackling & passing he could be the next player we have to fight to keep hold of.

I hope he stays fit next season Meyler & Colback could be our CM pairing.

Meyler/Colback could be our midfield pairing but not for another 3 seasons maybe. Too much to ask for these 2 lads to do it next season it would be suicide

I never really rated Meyler when Keane brought him in, but when he got his chance against Man City the other season every time i have seen him play he has really impressed me, the game last season against Villa away when he got the injury (again) him & henderson looked really well togher in the middle & were running the game the first half. Was gutted for him when he went down as you could see straight away that it was serious, good luck to him but let's hope he doesn't get rushed back & end's up knackered again.

So impressed with Colback guess he'll struggle to get in. Still give him lots of time to make sure his knee is right beofre being put into battle.

Danny that's cracking news really rate the guy, that's put a smile on my face. add Larson to that scenario and Zog, what a cracking midfield with Colbeck too

Your right re cm pairing. Maybe a little bit of experience thrown in as well. Keeping Bolo would have been good.

Too early for the joy thing, but best of luck to the lad, hope his confidence is not affected, as sometimes happens.
