Sad news for anyone affected so young, colleague of mine passed away early 40's and son early 20's also now suffering. Prayers for all affected.

My 33 year old sister had 2/3 of her Kidney removed last year due to Kidney Cancer.
After her 1 year scan a few months ago she got told the Cancer had returned and spread to her Lungs. We all had weeks of mental torture, only for the hospital to ring up again and tell us after looking at her scan again they realised it hasn't returned afterall and they'd made a mistake.
Shes past the first year, but the chances of it coming back in the first 2 years are high, so until then our lives will always be on tender hook's

Bloody hell. Good luck to the lad. And to all who end up with this blasted disease. We are much better at treating it now, and the survival rates are apparently much higher for many types, but man, umpteen decades and hundreds of millions and we still haven't cracked it

Hang in there Tees my wife had a full kidney taken out 6 years ago and is doing fine, annual check ups still, so fingers crossed for you all.

My heart goes out to anyone with this awful disease. I’ve lost too many family members and friends to various forms of cancer. I hope your sister is one of the successful ones Teessidemackem. So young to have to go through this.
As a nurse I worked with Hodgkin’s Disease. Not straightforward but definitely treatable/curable. Hope this lad’s treatment works well.
