This whole debate is about hindsight.
If the club could have known how things would unfold up to where we are now, then it would be a no-brainer to have given Benty his 60K or even more !

The other point raised in the article about whether it's Brucey's handling of these players, brought back memories of this:

    Angry Bruce lambasts absent Zaki

Wigan boss Steve Bruce has questioned Amr Zaki's future at the club after the striker failed to report back from international duty for the fourth time.
Zaki, who scored Egypt's only goal in a 1-1 draw with Zambia, started the season in superb form with nine goals in 13 games, taking him to the top of the Premier League goalscoring list.
"I really am at the end of my tether with him," said Bruce, who will fine Zaki for the latest indiscretion.

Yes, he always has a problem with strikers. One up front is o.k. providing there's a threat from elsewhere, like Ghana or Villa. But if there's not a threat from elsewhere e.g. Catts, Henderson, opposing defences are free to stick two and three men round the striker. Add to that the fact that we don't play balls to feet, and the striker is left chasing after aimless long balls with two or three defenders around him all the time. It's just horse-work for them. No striker will stick it for long.

If it was my money I would have told both Mr Bent and Mr Gyan to **** off.How long before Mr Bent's agent is in touch with Mr Gyans agent about Abu Dhabi?? $300,000 pw should tempt Mr Bent.

I am grateful to Mr Short for pumping millions of ££s every year of his money into our club to cover the losses. Agree with Cest about strikers, what we have bought probably would not be available at Harrods ,but B&Q are making the vey best of it and deserve support, Haway the Lads.
