Very good question, one that will give NP a selection headache, quite a nice one to have though dont you think? I said it would have to be between either Cairney or Koren, depends on who is in form and who is not at the time when Stewart returns to match fitness. Seems everybody including myself wants Stewart in the team but somebody will have to make way for him, unless they drop one of the forwards and play say Waghorn up top on his own with Koren in the hole behind the striker with a midfield of Brady, Olifinjana, Cairney and Stewart.
I would like Koren behind Waghorn but that goes against the theory that we are not "allowed" to play one striker
Christ this could a difficult dilema then matey. I still think by having a 4-4-1-1 formation this is'nt really playing a lone striker because of the man in support (Koren) with very attacking midfield with Brady and Stewart ripping down the wings with Oli and Cairney dominating and distributing play in the centre of the park. I think this could be an amazing line up. Like you McKenna might work well with Oli instead of Cairney but I would hate to see Cairney lose his place in the side as I really rate him. Difficult selections ahead for NP !!! Lol I tell you what though, talk about competition for places !!!
This a reason id hate to be a manager,id hate to drop Cairney,in fact i probably wouldn't.Oh i don't know.
I'm always positive, with a few loanees coming in and Stewart back we will be strong. The defence is gelling very well, and Koren's pinged one in for his confidence. Waggy is a great signing, and Mclean is giving us some fight up front. Mcshane back soon, possibly Oli too. UTT!
Out of the 7 games we've only really played badly against Palace even though Leeds smashed us the actually performance wasn't bad and if Basso had have been in goal then I doubt we would have conceded 4. I thought before the season started we would be top 10 and I've seen nothing to think any different. The team is defnitely capable of finishing in the playoffs. I actually think we're probably 2 or 3 players off being one of the best teams in the division in all fairness.
I won't be convinced until we win every game 3-0 & Nigel Pearson stops using his mate Barmby for a sub. We haven't got enough ambition, Jimmy Bullard was our most creative player and he was allowed to leave, all the other players are distinctly average and I will enjoy saturday evening when we lose and you'll all see why Phil was the man for this club..
While I lurv all this positivity, don`t bank on Cammy producing the goods straight away, if we start seeing the best of him before Christmas its bonus time, the lads been out for a long time and needs to be eased into things again, I for one will be clenching my butt cheeks the first time he gets a cruncher to test out the knee. I do think he cud, once up to speed, be a season definer, as long as we hang onto Brady for the remainder of the season, as far as I`m aware Brady is only til January. Too early for dreaming, think if we can start knocking a few more goals in though I cud get a tad excited, but NNNNOOOOOOOO DREAMING (not just yet !). Just have that feeling that we`re still a midfield general short though.
Cairney and Olofinjana have to be in the middle! I like the sound of Koren behind the striker, but would prefer a 4-3-3 with Olofinjana, Cairney and Koren in midfield, with Waghorn/Fryatt upfront with Stewart and Brady either side
for me and i know and have posted that mckenna gets better with each game, but on ability alone it has to be him. when stewart is finally ready to start a game (maybe the watford home match on oct 22nd) then i would drop or rest mckenna for stewart. mckenna would be a good player to bring on a-fresh to close out a game say. so my team would then be brady and stewart on the wings with cairney and koren in the middle. attack with flare & pace.
