Aye, big pinch of salt for this one for me. All the rumours about Welbeck state that LVG will let him go as he is happy with RVP, Rooney and Hernandez. So either the rumours about Hernandez leaving are false, or the ones about Welbeck leaving. Or both. Neither player seems to have shown many signs of being publicly unhappy with a squad role over the past couple of years, and neither has been replaced by a new signing, so not sure why we'd suddenly look to sell them now.
If they were prepared to pay 14 million for Borini, I guess you would want at least that for Welbeck (would also appear to kill a move for Borini, unless Wickham and/or Fletcher are leaving).
Maybe LVG hasn't been impressed with his application in training? It was something Moyes commentated on last season
