The money thing is irrelevant - even if he 'only' earns 4k a week that means he earns nearly more in a month than I and many do in a year, and it's £220,000 a year so I'm sorry but money is no consideration. Besides, has he never heard of trains? Who takes taxis to go down south?

At the end of the day, he's been banned because this is his 4th offense, if he's daft enough to not take the hint after the first 3 then that's his problem. Doing 48mph in a 30 zone??? Imagine if he'd hit someone!

I'm really sorry about his family problems but really, they are irrelevant to this particular situation as well. He needs to grow up.

Ive been caught on that same speed camera before although I was only clocked doing 33mph so had to do a Speed awareness course
which cost £60. Didnt get any points tho, happy days.

I like some of his crosses, the two that have gone in the net by accident were good. But particularly that beautiful cross he sent in against the Mackems last season from which Carroll hit the bar and Ameobi volleyed in that absolute pearler.

He's too scared to tackle though, and hopefully if we can get LB cover, Santon can take the RB position.

The low wages thing isn't a big surprise in our squad. When Danny Guthrie was in court a year or so ago, it transpired that Coloccini earns about 25x as much a week as Guthrie does.

Guthrie is only on £2800? I say only but you know what I mean/. When I was watching the reserves last night a bloke I was talking too reckons Ranger is on £15,000 a week!!!!

He was clearly just making excuses to try and avoid a ban, obivously a taxi fare or getting a lift of his partner/teammate to training wouldnt be the end of the world, and the team bus takes them to away games.

Even if it was true that he was off I must say I couldn't care less aslong as he is replaced, a lot of the the time hes a liability at the back and is definitely the weak link in our defence, which is amazing really considering Raylor is part of our defence.

Shame to hear about his daughter though and hope she will be ok.

True, but the point is he'll only be earning this for a short career... 10 - 13 years or so. Most peoples careers last about 40 years. What's he going to do after he retires - not too many options really, so he needs to be savvy with his money and not fritter it away whatever he is on. Look at kieth Gillespie - I know he's had problems but he has literally no money now, despite earning lots in the past.

Having said all that it's no excuse for breaking the law, and if you can't do the time, don't do the crime, think he has to accept the financial hit despite it coming at an unfortunate time.

Danny Simpson Annual Salary £220,000 x 13 years = 2.86 Million + bonuses , Sponsors ect
Average Uk Northern Salary £20,000 x 40 years = £800,000

Money definitely is NO EXCUSE

I'm sorry mate, that's utter ****e! Are footballers banned from excelling in education? Fairly sure the Ameobi brothers both have decent Alevels...They can go to University or get a job like anyone else. They're afforded far more advantages than anyone else - how many people do you know who can afford to fund their own business or make large investments without loans from a bank? Danny Simpson can...

There is literally no reason whatsoever for him to complain about money, regardless of the length of career he has!

Gillespie blew all his money gambling. If any average person who spent their money wisely and normally had a PL footballer's wage for 15 years they wouldn't need to worry about retiring and being skint. If you go around blowing your wages on gambling, ridiculous cars, jewellry, property you don't need etc, then yes you will need to worry.
