I will get behind any team when we start Croydon but I think he won't be a good fit nor was Bosingwa as it turned out but he is a good football .. he is ex scum alas there's half the problem the other half is that he looks lazy. Simpson is a down grade IMO. A fully loved up Bosingwa could of been a hero and it just gets me how in 2013 after our promotion just 2 seasons ago we can all rubbish players like we do ... The management has been wrong IMO ... all three of them since we were promoted

This. I have yet to find a Chelsea fan that rated him either and I have spoken to quite a few. He is ok going forward but not a good defender.
He saved us a few goals last season clearing off the line and making great tackles, as well as setting up many plays going forward. For me he must be the most underestimated football player ever to wear the Hoops. One of our best players last season.

I think Simpson will prove a good signing. Played regularly in Newcastles 5th place finish season and only dropped after their signing of Debucy. And to be fair, other clubs were reportedly in for Simpson - west brom strongly linked plus other NPC sides. From Harry and Simpsons own comments it seems he is a good pro and works hard for the side.
It's a myth Bosingwa is any good going forward IMO. He can take a free-kick but his crossing was consistently dire. Defensively he is more than happy to pass the buck when caught out of position and just stroll back. Simpson isn't perfect but he'll be twice as good a fit in the Championship.
