I think CP would like to create his own history. It's a romantic thought for him to come back, but I think that ship has sailed.

I remember Curb's saying something about DM after he left along the lines of - "he'll be closer to all those showbiz events he goes to with his missus now" I remember feeling that there was a lot of resentment towards him but I just assumed that it was because he had forced his transfer through.

When he first signed for us I was really pleased as I felt it was a sign the club was capable of attracting established premier league quality players (not that we didn't have any - just that it was that summer we started bringing them in from 'top' sides). But towards the end of his stay it was clear he felt the club were stopping him getting into the England side and that he was better than us.

Every chance he has mellowed over the past few years and accepted that he's not the superstar he thought he was - who knows!

You beat me to it, SCA. I defo remember Curbs saying something about the move being as much for his (gorgeous) missus so that she could sit in the stands at a more glamorous club.

JA - I don't think he has unfinished business here, I think he has unfinished business everywhere else (where he hasn't really been given a fair crack). I believe any return would cloud the new set up that we have, which feels fresh and exciting, whilst maintaining (or I should stay reinstating) many of the club attitudes and feeling. Whilst Curbs was a fantastic servant for the club, at the moment I wouldn't welcome him back into the fold. In years to come, when our current wave of positivity has faded... maybe that'll be his time.

I think the dislike was more out of disrespectful comments he made about the Charlton support; it was about numbers compared to the Liverpool support rather than the anti social behaviour of some fans which I could concur with.

I don't think his wife was that gorgous at all, if I remember she spent most of her time writing articles about how unglamorous Charlton was as a club for her lifestyle in the Times magazine if my memory serves me correct and living the 'high' life which Curbs alluded to at the time.

As for the alleged training incident, I don't think there was any truth in that perhaps confusion with Moutouakil.
