I am a dick he is on half that he just gets paid every 2 weeks, just I was not listening that well at the time, so to clear this up he is currently on £550 a week so we should be able to beat this.
Sky sports reckon it's us and Crawley in for him. If it's a bidding war they will win, and Crawley is not that far from Medway so if it's money he's after, thats where he will go,and you can't blame him for that. He won't be sure of starting every game there though, with the amount of forwards they've got. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6992730,00.html?
I think we will get him as long as we get a bid accepted by 'the Wombles'... Remember he rejected a bid by Crawley last year and there is an article where he absolutely slated them so i really cant see him going there so i reckon we are still favourites as long as somebody from league 1 doest come in for him and that scally forks out enough dosh so that wimbledon let us talk to him
Unless Crawley really up their prices to 3X that of the Gills.....with a 3,500 capacity ground they WILL struggle ....unless they have backers with more money than sense.
I thought there are provisions in league 2 that wages can only be as much as 60% of revenue? I am not completely sure of this however and may be wrong. I'll see if I can find out.
Ok done a little bit of searching and I believe there is a system in place called Salary Cost Management Protocol, the extract below is from the football league website, link to page also below. Anyone know how this will effect teams like Crawley with regards to wages? "In order to meet the objectives of Financial Fair Play, Championship clubs have agreed to work towards the introduction of new regulations to be developed and approved by the beginning of the 2012/13 season, League 1 clubs have agreed to implement the Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) - which limits spending on player wages to a proportion of total turnover - from 2011/12 and League 2 clubs, having successfully operated the SCMP at a 60% threshold since 2003, will reduce it to 55% next season." http://www.football-league.co.uk/fo...nancial-fair-play-initiative-_2293334_2375013 Hope some of you find this interesting and helpful. If we really want to sign him,I hope Scally doesn't dither about trying to get him for a few quid less than Wimbledon want, and we finish up losing him. I have no faith in nScally and his dealings, and if we're not careful we'll finish up with the dross that no-one else wants.
Half the battle with a club like ours is location, however I feel that it will take at least 100K before Wimbledon will even start negotiating, and that will be the main reason if we fail to sign him. Wages shouldn't be an issue as I'm sure Bayo, Maccammon, Palmer etc were all on more than what Kedwell will probably want...
The price will depend on how many clubs are in for him. IF it's only us that he is willing to come to( bearing in mind the comments he supposedly made about Crawley which may rule them out), then whatever we offer, Wimbledon will probably have to accept because there's no point keeping a player who wants to move, and then he could probably attract a bigger signing on fee from us if we didn't have to pay much in a transfer fee.
I think he does wanna come to us, he said his target is to play for us or at a higher level, being rejected by us years ago set him back and he said that made him stronger and wanted to sign for us one day once he had got off the alcohol as before he had a kid he acted like a kid due to the alcohol.
Crawley don't want Kedwell and Birchall wants away from Dover http://www.kentnews.co.uk/p_12/Arti...uit_Dover_Athletic_for_Football_League_return http://www.crawleytownfc.com/newsdetails.php?ID=2071
To be honest that is great news and if we dont get danny kedwell now then we really must be in a poor state adam birchall will attract a lot of interest i would have thought and dover might want quite a high price so i am less confident on that one however!\
Didn't Paul Scally lose a Court Case against the owner of a salad company for a loan of £250K? I am not sure if it was a personal loan or a loan that is connected to the Gills. I just hope that this does not reflect on any monies that will be made available by the Chairman. - http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/news/2011/march/1/paul_scally.aspx
