An £800,000 move is being touted by several newspapers (and now Sky Sports) for the Barnsley lad. Remember seeing him at Brizzle and Ipswich, he was a real handful, although I think they played him up front, whereas at Barnsley he is being played as a winger. Versatile, young and quick and would compliment Stewart on the other wing.

£800k is a bit pricey, but is what we are bidding for Hobbs so it could happen, but we face competition from a couple of other clubs. Even if it's not a goer, good to see us being linked with proven Championship players.

Would be a good signing.

Proven championsip class attacking Right winger with lots of pace, agree him and Cam on the wings would cause alot of problems.

G. Barnes aint a bad larker but what exactly is his preferred position, and hes a bit injury prone.

People on here do make me laugh on one thread we have people saying we shouldnt sign a 24 yr old CB who can play RB on a free because he was out for a season (despite playing 80 games in the two season prior)with a knee injury, then others on a different thread saying we should have a look at Barnes, a player who has had more injuries then Darren Anderton!!!

For me Haynes would be a great signing but doubt we will get him because of the fee, Barnes is a real talent, but would have to be signed on a pay as you play deal and after the biggest medical ever
