How much of an underachiever is he.
When he's not in the team fans cry out for his inclusion then he plays as he did yesterday .
He had a chance to stake a claim in the side and as usual blew it .
I'd of had Waggy any day over green I don't think he should ever start again get rid off possible easier said than done as who would want him.
 
Green doesn't always play like that when he does, he is very hit and miss sadly, I like him though, can't have a go at him for yday as the whole team was poor. Green is the best crosser of the ball on our team, least he can drill a cross, the rest can only float a pansy cross in as we saw for 90 minutes yday when both keepers had catching practice all day.

Waggy in a 1 on 1, Green when on the wing, Powell hasn't shifted him and I'm sure it's not because no on wants him, and He's a real winger, where as the next option is a slow CM.
 
Green is said to be inconsistent. I don't agree.

He looks consistently good against poor quality opposition (lower divisions or reserve matches) or when our team is playing well and is on top. Consistently poor when there is a real job to be done.

The other point is it is suicide playing him and Harriott in the same team. Might just work if we had the best two CMs in the division. At present we probably have the worst two.
 
I would stick with him.

What are the other options? Cook? Pritchard?

At least allow DG a run to see if he can stake a claim, and not just through cameos when all else has failed.

Definitely Pritchard in my opinion... He gets stuck in which gives Solly the confidence to bomb forward

Although until the suspension is completed - If we had to choose someone to play on the Right in a 4-4-2 formation then it has to be Green
 
For me, one of the reasons I would play Pritchard over Green is that you know what you are getting with Pritchard, hard working and gets stuck in, and a fair amount of assists too
 
Point 1. Waggy doesn't play for us any more. He's gone. He is an ex-Addick. FFS please stop going on about him!!!!!!!!

Point 2. I am Greens staunchest defender. Albeit a luxury player, I maintain that he has been very badly handled over the last two seasons and we are stifling him.

Point 3. Notwithstanding point 2, he was shyte yesterday and flattered to deceive on Tuesday against Oxford. Even my patience is beginning to wear thin.

Point 4. Give him 5 games. Do not criticise. Take him for what he is rather than what he isn't. Give him the ball in front of him and don't ask him to defend. Oh wait we don't have a midfield capable of playing to his strengths!

Point 5. Like everyone else he is out of contract in 8 months and is finding it difficult to give a ****.

Point 6. Err, that's it.

Anybody who saw his extraordinary goal at Derby County last season and the way he inspired the comeback in that game will be as confounded as I am that he can't do that every game (or even every other game).

Wonder goals only count the same as tap-ins. I'll take two Pritchard tap-ins to one Green wonder-goal any season.

Another reason to prefer Wilson to Pritchard at RM is that, unless Hughes and Jackson get back their fitness and form quickly, Pritchard will be needed at CM, which is his natural position.

I agree that Green may well have been badly handled at Charlton, as may have been Wagstaff and Stephens, but the damage is done now. CP is not suddenly going to see a blinding light and change his methods, prejudices or coaching staff.

If Green and Stephens want fresh starts, best to seek them at other clubs, like Waggy. (Cook too).

I am not panicking just because we lost two games, but if we lose another four trying to be "fair" to players who have failed us time and again, whether through their own fault or not, we might leave ourselves too much to do by the end of the season. We know how slim the margins are between relegation, mid-table, and top six in this division.

If you want Harriott in the team, with Kermit and a striker (Church or Pigott) you need to perm three out of Wilson, Pritchards, Stephens, Gower, Hughes, Jackson or Cousins in midfield. Even with three of them there, it doesn't inspire me with much confidence. But only two is suicidal as we saw against Middlesboro who enjoyed the freedom of the park but couldn't finish.

And when the time comes to rest Harriott, I would prefer Evina or Sordell to replace him than Green.

Where did either Tweakes or I say that it was just the goal?? He made everything positive happen that day.

I didn't get to see any of the games in which Wilson played well, but I saw a few from the best run of the season, which all had Pritchard as an important player in RM. Still thought he needed to improve in possession of the ball, but offered plenty and lots of assists over the season.
 
Dale Stephens was our best player on Tuesday against Oxford United and was our best player on Saturday. If Stephens consistently plays like that, I'd rather take him and Jackson in the middle over Gower. Green did force a good couple of saves out of the keeper. IMO I think that Sordell is not that good. He was not bright at AFC Bournemouth and was not great during Middlesbrough. Church always seems to move, and get into spaces, I'd rather start him come next game.
 
Playing Green for a game and then dropping him won't do anything but make things worse. Most agree that he appears to be a confidence player, so give him several games to prove himself. If he gets the run and doesn't perform then he won't be able to argue. But right now it seems to be if he doesn't perform in 90minutes then he drops out of the squad (several times last season he wouldn't even make the bench).
 
So Green was good at Derby... Wooo hoo I have seen every game at the valley since Greens been there and he only performs when coming on as an impact sub can't remember any game that he has started when he has played well.
I presume he must of BUT nothing springs to mind.
Typical winger I suppose as in a bit hit and miss but just seems a miss a lot more.
As for Sordell hard to tell on says performance he hardly got near the ball.
Pritchard a must starter for me either inside or wide with Harriot
 
Do we have anyone decent coming through the academy that could potentially play on the Right of Midfield (granted not instantly this season) - I know we had that Kasey Palmer who decided to end his football career and join Chelsea but is there anyone else?
