Exactly, if we bring him in on a loan. Get a permament striker in and maybe a youngster from a big club then I'd be happy enough.
We did rate Meyler, he was our best midfielder at one point, not for long though.
I would have said them two would be Championship players, massive step up for them now though.
Actually, if we sign Graham on loan for the season, I'd be fine with that.
I still don't think he will score the goals to keep us up, but at least on loan we don't suffer the double whammy of also spunking 4 or 5 mill on such a player.
The way I see it, we cannot afford the quality of player necessary to fire the goals needed to keep us up next season.
Clubs in that position have to figure out a different way of managing Premier League survival. For me that means signing a few players who are going to cause a few surprises. Norwich did this with Holt, we did it with Cousin and King, Southampton did it with Lambert. These players will last probably a season before they are sussed out by quality defenders, but by then the clubs concerned have accomplished what they wanted to do.......survive that first season.
By signing players like Graham that element of surprise is not there, defenders already know how to deal with him. This is why the likes go Austin, Rhodes and Ulloa or their equivalents from abroad like Mboyo, are better options because they will provide that element of surprise that may mean the difference between survival and relegation.

What a load of bollocks!
A year to figure out how to deal with someone? Spat my tea out, these defenders play against all types of player, it probably takes them 5 minutes one day in the week leading up to the game in the preparation to figure out how to cope with each player, that's what scouts are for.
Even if the oppositions scouts or players have never seen a player before, it would take about 5 minutes in a match to learn how they're going to play. Element of surprise is a load of rubbish.
Can't see why people are complaining about Graham. For a club of our stature in the top flight he's exactly what we need.
A proven PL goal scorer for sure and helped get Swansea to the coc final last season as well as help establish them in the PL. If possible then Get Him In Brucie. imo.

I'd take not far off a 1 in 4 strike rate. 10 goals is a good return for a striker. You'd be a fool to thing we are going to pluck a 20 goal striker from nowhere.
We need to get a player up top with some experience at this level.
As it stands at the min we have Fryatt and Prozzy as our options for goal scorers, not taking Aluko into consideration as i believe he will be in the midfield.
Graham would give us that experience and also only on a loan would be ideal!

To be fair Graham would be a useful addition & he gave Swansea another dimension when their Barca-esque stuff wasn't paying off.. so with our tippy tappy Koren, Aluko & Quinny, we can add in some bulk with Graham..
You know, the more I think about this the better I like it. Let's face it, he's definitely got a better pedigree than Austin and most were happy with him.
If we take advantage of the Sunlan seeming desperation to shift him then it's a good option. If we loan for a season with a pre-agreed fee and first option to buy then what's to lose? I'd actually have him now for £3.5m, but any more than that and they can do one but I reckon they'd take a £1.5m cut on their losses.
