Where Graham and/or Hooper are in the pecking order for starting a game may well be a determining factor as to whether they decide to come to CR. Hooper seems to be first choice at Celtic and Graham has played second fiddle to Michu at Swansea so may not like the idea of moving to CR only to play from the bench again. IMO both would want a guaranteed start to bring them to CR which clearly CH cannot guarantee. I agree that competition is healthy, but in this instance we may have to hope that they both see it that way.
i'm sorry, but any player who requests 'guaranteed first team football' is not the sort of player we want on our books and i should imagine it is extremely unusual for a player to request that. everyone knows the score when they move to a new team or a more competitive squad. you're looking into it too much
Perhaps I am being naive but if we believe that footballers main ambition is to win trophies why would Graham want to leave Swansea now that they have a very good chance of a Wembley final. Staying on and leaving in the Summer would mae more sense. With all due respect to us and the other teams linked to him it is not as if he is moving to a team that will be challenging for major tropies.
if a player is seriously unhappy at a club they won't be too bothered about sticking around for the 'chance' of a trophy. suffer for another 6 months and try and win something or make a move now and be happy? i think he'd choose the latter... who's to say if he moved to norwich we wouldn't win the fa cup? i mean, we won't but as a theory its flawless
better one who demands first team football than one who wants a lie in then to play F1 games with the chairman!
they might very well be but they'll have to a) match our offer, as ours was higher, and b) convince their fans that he is committed to sunderland after he said he'd 'never sign for them' and would 'rather sign for gateshead'!
i guess they don't have too much choice. the player wants to leave so its the conundrum of whether to keep hold an unhappy player or sell for the most money you can. for what it's worth, i agree with you - its a risk for them to sell him as he's a very good player
i don't rate kenwyne jones AT ALL. when i think some of our fans call steve morison lazy, i dread to think what they'd make of him!!
I just don't see how he would fit in at all with Swansea's style of football as they don't tend to deliver that many high balls into the box! AH well its not my problem but I wonder what would happen if Michu got injured and was out for a while!
they've adjusted their style a bit this season and do go a bit more direct, which has helped them, so i do think he'd fit in ok there, but he isn't as mobile as either michu or graham and certainly doesn't work hard. better in the air than graham though.
He scored 4 in 4 games, plus we have changed the way we play to suit circumstances, so how doesn't he fit in ?
I think our resident binner is talking about Kenwyne Jones, Jager. I can't imagine the board actually want both, just one or the other. I see Laudrup has confirmed there have been bids, but not from whom. I would prefer Hooper at a push, as he has more potential long term and better sell-on potential, but would still be pleased with Graham. I had hoped we'd bid for him when we were promoted. If we got both I'd be delighted!
Graham wants to leave because he isn't first choice and not gettng regular football. I can't see him getting any more football at Norwich or Sunderland tbh.
