In today's market, even 15mil would be terrific business. I'd be wary of paying any more than that but otherwise a good deal. Surely we have the financial muscle to overpower Stoke/Bolton etc

We shouldn't have spent much of that 35mil yet, even if money is being put away to pay wages of new players. I think we'd have enough to pay quite a bit for Sturridge (he's worth it) and have enough left for LB cover, another ST, a better RB if needed then going into the season we'd have a very good squad assuming no one else goes out.

If Liverpool paid £35million for a guy who's scored 11 Premier League goals, then £15mill is a snip.

****ing hell. Why do people keep using this ridiculous argument? "I'm going to stick my head in this fire" "but why?" "well that guy over there did it and only suffered third degree burns..."

Sturridge would cost us a lot more than he would Stoke because Chelsea will be reluctant to sell him to a rival. ;)

Bolton play good football and they beat us 5-1 and he may want rejoin them if he had an enjoyable loan spell there.

I don't have any real hate for Bolton (other than that drummer), but I'd just like to point out it's pure ****ing hyperbole that Bolton play good football. They somehow developed this reputation when Elmander was on form and they seemed to be very tippy-tappy (after a long ball up to Davies in the first place), but since he went off form they resorted to lumping it and then hoping for a scrappy goal

Are Stoke insane? 6 million?

Hopefully Villas Boas sends a fax back including a picture of his arse.

What a ridiculous offer.

If that's the highest any other club is offering though, lets show our interest now and put in a 12m bid.

Why? If the best offer they get for him is from Stoke at £6M and they want to offload him why offer twice as much? An extra Mill or 2 may seal the deal.

I think we should offer twice as much because that's probably the least Chelsea will accept for him. There's no way they're going to let the most promising young English striker go for 7/8 million.

If they don't get a good offer they wont sell them mate, it's as simple as. They haven't put him up for sale, therefore they're not just going to accept the best offer, they'll only accept an offer they feel is acceptable for him.

I'd pay 10M for him defiantly, since he's so talented and young he's worth every penny!

If they decide he's surplus to requirements and want to cash in on him and their best offer is £6M which is reasonable since he's only scored 14 goals since his 1st team debut at City 4 years ago then we don't have to go spending vast sums on him. Personally don't think he'll go for more than £10M if he isn't required at Chelski.

If he goes for any less than 10 million, i'll microwave my balls!

Haha rep!

6mil is joke offer though, maybe they're just testing the waters though.

Cheers mate.

And yeah they're testing the water but if that's their opening offer the final figure will be a lot less than the £15M-20M being banded round here as a "decent" price for him.
