Quite right. Ayala was flavour of the month on here for a while. People were forseeing a partnership between him and Bennett. And he was let go by Liverpool who aren't blessed with Centre Backs.
To be fair he's probably spent more time on the treatment table or bench than on the pitch since leaving Liverpool so I don't think they'll be missing him too much. I always thought people got carried away a bit with him, he looked decent enough and did some good things, but I was never massively confident with him at the back to be honest.
As for Butterfield, I work with a Barnsley fan (a southerner from Kent with no ties to Yorkshire at all bizarrely enough) who can't say enough good things about him, reckons he's absolutely brilliant and even went as far as to say he's "the new gazza". I think he might have been over egging it a bit, but I have read that description before. I personally am really looking forward to seeing what he can do and that's one of the reasons I'm not interested in Pacheco
