If we can afford the wages and the CEO says we can, then there's no problem in spending a bit now (within reason) even if we're not promoted.

What makes you think your CEO is correct? Even assuming I believe a 52% share means something (which I don't, as the fans will never agree as a bloc), what good does it do if you aren't going to exercise your rights responsibly?

The England analogy is a good example. Just because there is a representative Democracy, you can't just rely on that and assume that your leaders won't lie or get you into trouble. That's my problem with Portsmouth fans right now. They seem to think that because they are "a supporter's club" that just solves everything. They should be asking more questions. A lot more.

TBF, I think the answer to those questions is going to be "Trust us or get bent" so it's not going actually change anything. But you are relying on your club to be run by a benevolent and competent dictator, just like everyone else.

Where they are now suits me just fine.

They can have all the pretend derby games they like against a team in red and white stripes when they play Exeter which I have a feeling they will be doing for know and for all of perpetuity.

Why any true football fan would want Pompey with the history that they have to go out of business is beyond me. Yes a very few of their fans gave us a bad time during our recent problems...but it was doubly reciprocated during their own demise.
In truth though it was in the main just a very small number of fans on either side. The vast majority did not want to see either club go out of business. That still applies now!!

Thanks for your thoughts guys. Over 60% of you either don't care or would like them to be relegated from the football league.

As a fan that doesn't live in Hampshire I don't feel the rivalry, I don't have friends, family or workmates who are pompey supporters but have a smugness in knowing we are the top club in the area and feel an excitement of the prospect of a local derby.

Part of me cares, we don't need pompey but it's part of our life, just like Celtic need rangers,Dr who has the daleks or one direction have brainless teens to download their music.

Long live the skates, let us prove our dominance over the next few years but at least give us some competition.
