I can’t remember the last time I was as excited about a young player. It’s such a thrill seeing a homegrown talent like that stepping up and performing as he is. If he continues on his current trajectory we will struggle to keep hold of him.
Think Dannyboy will know exactly where the club is heading and I think he’ll want to be part of it. He quickly turned down interest in him during the summer to remain here
Don't know the lad myself but those who do have said that he is MLF and very committed. I'd hope that he can now see where the new regime are going and will want to be part of it. The lad is very progressive and is a very incisive passer, he looks like he loves playing for us and is now viewed as a key player by his manager. Long may it continue.
I think he'd have sunk without trace under managers like Parkinson. Johnson's rhetoric may confuse some supporters but players like Neil seem to be thriving. There's a huge cost in time, effort and finance and that's been wasted too often in the past.
Aye, Parkinson wouldn't have known how to use him at all and seemed to mistrust the young players generally. Still have my concerns about Johnson long term but can't argue with the start he's made this season particularly when he's had start the season without recognised full backs. The style of play we are trying to play works for the players we have and its a style that our fans generally buy into. Onward and upwards mate. Can't wait for Saturday, first game back at SOL for me, my youngest lad and Dad and Brother.
That's brilliant mate, three generations together at the match. As an exile, and with a dad who wasn't interested, I was never taken to a match, jealous tbh.
Aye that's a shame mate, I've been very lucky in that respect, I've been exiled 22 years now, my youngest lad was only six months old when we moved away but I've kept the season tickets for my two lads and I for most of those years. Work commitments in the last five years have meant I couldn't justify the expense/time to do so and as such have not been getting home as frequently so try and make the most of it when I do and moreso this time around after COVID. My Dad is nearly 80 and his health isn't great so looking forward to this one as he won't want to go over during the winter months. Got to take every opportunity to spend time with him and for the first time in ages he wants to go this weekend. Fingers crossed we get decent weather and a win.
Enjoy the experience with your family, I did last week when my 3 sons and 3 grandchildren all attended, even though we weren't sat together. Brought back memories of not long after the SOL was opened and myself and the 3 lads were all ST holders. They would all be chatting with each other so I would take a step back behind them and think how lucky I was to be going to the game with them.
We’re very lucky that somebody didn’t offer us £10 and a packet of sweets last season. Donald would have been ****ing himself dry at the chance of selling off another one of our better prospects.
