I'm reserving judgement on the players, first signs are decent but my positivity is all geared to one result, Chelsea. We threw away a 2 goal lead against Southampton and clung on, we couldn't beat relegation favourites Everton, I am going to give it a few more games yet before giving the signings any praise
Yeah you can throw that Chelsea win in the bin now as Dan started. Least you can write off the Brighton result too.
Maybe he knows more than you do and, really radical I know, even though he doesn’t “bleed Leeds” maybe he’s spent a country mile more than you ever will trying to make Leeds successful and he doesn’t have the luxury of a pop shot back at you for only buying a shirt when they are on special offer
Yep, well there is that but, in a fair world, he should be able to amble in from a night out and criticise your every noise too
I think you’re right to reserve judgement. Early season always throws up some random results and a review of performances after about 10 games gives a reasonable first assessment point. That said, given pre-season expectations - over the 90 minutes we’ve been the better side or at the very least held our own in 4 of the 5 games. The sides we’ve played, if you read reports, have actually generally all been competitive in their other games. It’s going to be a tight league but there’s reason for cautious optimism. We certainly don’t look like the whipping boys some thought we would be.
Can sort of understand the James thing if we got close to our 25m back but the loan is a mystery to me
We have too many wingers and he is the worst by a mile. Perhaps though we are all missing something here. We get a loan fee and his wages covered it has been stated on here. But maybe man utd have a bonus to come if he starts a certain number of games. Remember the kelly contract?.
Only thing I can think of, other than what Emu said earlier in the week, is, it has to have something to do with ffp. A £5m loan fee now, would likely only be the same as the down payment anyway.
