Because he was the only player we have with any height. We lumped it up the pitch tons this evening. Connolly wasn't going to win much in the air was he. Gulys touch was abysmal but we very little else to go with.
I agree he was useless... I'm also not his biggest fan. Was clear after 5 minutes that Leicester were going to target him, he was just awful from start to finish. Adkins probably made his worst tactical error since being here in starting him at right-back instead of Richardson. Unless I'm missing something there is no reasonable explanation as to why Harding started ahead of Richardson, who has really found his feet this season and been one of our star performers. Eveyone bar Hooiveld, Schniederlin and to a degree Falque was poor tonight but Harding really stood out - He was played out of position, and for that I do find myself question Nige's selection for the first time ever. But, it's one game, onwards and upwards. The guys leaving early were a disgrace (some in the Northern were leaving before 70 minutes had elapsed), and booing your own players? We're not Arsenal ffs, get behind the team! Poor support from many tonight, if you're going to enjoy the good times you need to suffer the bad too. Everyone has a right to vent but booing these lads is out of order.
