I don’t think it was. He has clashed with Radcliffe and he’s just hooked him. The Southgate connection is probably right aswell.
Yeah you don't mess with Radcliffe. Suggesting Southgate was probably the straw that broke the camels back.
Ashworth is a bad apple mind. His reputation is smashed. We have not replaced Eales yet. I wonder why?
Differing opinions online are: 1. Too many people in senior positions and Ashworth didn't have the control he wanted. 2. Radcliffe was fuming, publicly highly critical during the week about how **** the data analyses department was..... this then kicked off..... 3. Ashworth didn't want Amorin and wanted Southgate, hence why he wasn't pictured with the new manager and spat his dummy out. 4. Ashworth has done something requiring being sacked for gross misconduct. No idea what. Listening to Winter, Crook and Ornstein he was frogmarched through the press room last night by the C.O.O and security to an exit which they thought was strange at the time but never thought anything more of it. The first 3 of those reasons you would imagine could be resolved somehow by communication and patience, the last of those is when you clear some ****ers desk and escort them out the building
It has to be something tangible for it to stick. It’s been done legally and they say it’s by mutual consent in other words here’s your pay now get the **** out. I think the Southgate thing is it mind.
Surely that could have been done midweek. Not straight after a game with a press conference about to start and fans still lingering around.
It is strange for him to be frog marched out like. Maybe he’s said something to Radcliffe re Amorim along the lines of “Southgate would have won that game” and he’s just snapped. Radcliffe seems the type to make rash decisions. Definitely something happened yesterday mind.
It's far likely the new managerial appointment has made a demand and raised issues among many other things. Simply suggesting southgate is thee reason is a preposterous claim quite frankly
Their senior executive structure is mental like. Its Ratcliffe at the very top 2 senior Ineos execs on the 2nd rung together (one of them Brailsford) then the CEO on the 3rd lair. Then it was Ashworth on 4th lair Then Wilcox Then the manager
It’s not the reason. But it’s part of it. He’s good mates with Gareth. Apparently the relationship was strained months ago.
