So it seems that Comolli is the first to bear the brunt of the owners anger. FSG is clearly very unhappy at the situation we are in. In that sense I am relieved.

Kenny has just said that the choice of the players was all his and Comolli was only involved in sorting the deals and the conmtracts. He is now exposed and FSG have clearly given a signal to all fans that they are prepared to act should results not improve.

Could this mean Kenny is going to move upstairs in the summer?

    I thought this.

Kenny moved from manager to director of football at Blackburn.

He is also responsible for the Wilson and Shelvey signings.

Kenny said he was responsible for ALL players. Are you saying that Comolli wants to claim credit for Suarez?

KK said he wanted suarez, DC actually went out and did all the negotiating and persuading to actually get him.

    I'm Shocked!!!

I actually liked the idea of a DoF as it meant that the manager could manage the team. Could this be the first step towards bringing Rafa back? If FSG have fired him then I am even more suprised as he was recommended by Billy Beane!

I hope there is more news on this and what the plans are moving forward. If DC was in charge of the money spent then I can see why he has been sacked

not at all... did anyone REALLY think that damien comolli identifed charlie adam as a real target? seriously?

I think comolli screwed the ppoch on carroll but thats in terms of the fee.

clealry kenny is saying guys that he identified luis suarez as his man so the whole only english players thing needs to end. just cos downing and adam are flops doesn't mean enrique is not good and neither is bellamy nor handerons. They are all decent. the fact is adam and carroll and the ones that are bad.

comolli <laugh> has been using clubs as a stepping stone for years, i wonder where he's stepped now.. we'll hear soon enough but i am guessing PSG.

According to KD ""Everyone who has come into the club since Damien has been here was of my choice.
"Once I made the choice who I wanted, Damien went away and did a fantastic job of bringing them in." So why is it Comollis fault?

I think this means that there will be major changes in the next few months. I can see the way has been made for Kenny to be DoF and a manager brought in to do day to day team management. I think (and it is not new to others here) that the manager task in the modern game is beyond Kenny and I can see him overseeing overall football affairs for the club next season.

Is anyone else disappointed to see DC go? A lot of the signings he made at Spurs are starting to look good or were good at the time, (Bale, BAE, Modric, Berbatov), plus it's not hard to imagine at least Henderson and possibly even Carroll coming good at some point.

To be honest, I'd rather the board were patient with the team and manager for at least another season and instead prioritised the season ticket and stadium debacle.

If the fees and wages paid for these Players exhausted the entire budget, meaning other Targets were unaffordable, and it is silly to think you got everyone you wanted, then the squad comes up short.

I have to admit, I am. I though KK would have gone before DC as they wanted transfer/squad continuity when managers changed

can't move kenny upstairs we'd need to put one of those stair chair things in and you know how much those cost!

besides gerrard and carroll would want to use it.

I'm a bit dissapointed, would like to see a period of calm and continuity, we've not had that since Gillet & Hicks bought the club and It's cost us in my opinion. Whilst things aint good at the moment, we are a work in progress and this is a new era for the club, this is a bit of a setback.
