    Barney, I tell you what, I am proposing that we close our borders to Gloucester after they announced that the thugs last night came from that part of the world. Seriously it isn't tennis.

    I am chirpy, because my boss told me to take the day off and I am able to spend the day listening to the new Laura Marling album.

    One horse I really like today-

    2.55 Sandown PILGRIM'S REST 12/1 e/w (NAP)

    Some good horses in that maiden but Hannon says that this horse has been doing everything right at home and that he thinks he looks a nice type. Given Hannon usually has his well-drilled enough wo win first time as opposed to some of Stoute's, I thought the price looked very big and the trip looks ideal. £95,000 purchase too, and usually they are shrewd with horse around the 1m mark.

    I must say I am completely out of touch with the popular music scene in the UK these days. After Stick introduced me to Kings Of Leon last year, I am now confronted with Laura Marling. Never heard of her. She any good?

    Oddy, the UK music scene is ridiculous. Completely saturated by wannabe gangsters, but the thick young generation of kids we have got just lap it up.


    I wish I was born in the 70s- Queen and Black Sabbath would have done me just fine.

    Neil Young's new album is pretty good. Not liked anything Kings of Leon have done since their 3rd album.

    I'm partial to lots of different music I must say - Back In Black by AC/DC is one of the finest albums ever, I also like (completely randomly) The Fall, The Undertones, Ice Cube, The Pogues, Beastie Boys. An endless list like most people probably. I usually only listen to music whilst driving. Mahler's 1st Symphony is also a cracker <ok>
