and of course, the occasional butch woman who laughs like she farts. It's a phenomenal noise it really is.

Whilst we are on about management terms this from the Nurseing Director
"There are Islands of excellence in the sea of mediocracy that is our trust"

well looks like im drowning in the front line sea but its nice to be thought of a just being mediocre, if only i could aspire to be an Island, one can dream

**** em all i say

Dan: "Life is a piece of **** with bits of sweetcorn in it"

Oddy/TopClass: At my age I would not know where to start with tales of big business. As Oddy rightly said to you, "Welcome to the corporate world". Disney has nothing on this. Quickly, one I remember was a Finance Manager we had (something of a ****head from Oklahoma) who felt he was above the nuts and bolts of an operation. I was chatting to a good mate of mine over a beer when he said, "that Finance Manager of yours is a strange one, ain't he?". Out of loyalty, I just shrugged my shoulders. "Well", he said, "we were at a small meeting the other day and were discussing a company that had just arrived in the area, and certain small problems they were encountering". Our Finance Manager interrupted and said "Who the hell are they, I've never heard of them". "You certainly should have, they are your new Drilling Contractor!" (this is an oil company's prime contractor in a drilling operation, of course), replied my friend. <doh>

Afternoon, people. It’s ‘no bet’ for me today as nothing really inspires. The rest of the week though promises much better action with Cheltenham at the weekend looking particularly good.

All the very best if you do have an old punt today though.

Good afty gents... I hope we are well on this wind swept and not suprisingly poor day... Not looked into much detail for todays racing but what ive seen is a bit of a no value day today...

Good luck to all who do indeed play with todays runners... <ok>

A long time since ive ever sat in a meeting as such but what i do remeber was one of our top managers always saying that we should 'maximise...' this, that, in fact just about everything... It later turned out the that the 'maximising' required of the Stores warehouse which i was the main man, was to work extra hours for no overtime pay...!!!

It didnt impress the lads i can tell you...!!! Ahh, the corporate world of blokes in an office with no windows and a calculator trying to make all things fit into 1...!!!

Any way i mgith maximise a e/w bet on Presenting Ace @ Leicester... <ok>

Twister remains badly out of form. Ballycassel well backed, looked a picture in the paddock (according to the RP live reporter) and yet a poor run <erm>

Danbo, when i was up with Chris randomly saw it was running and chucked £5 e/w on it. Name is Don won at 40-1!!!
