Wasn't it won by a 100/1 shot last year? (I should know because I was there, but I'm afraid I was very, very drunk indeed)
Minefield with a capital M that race. Be interesting to hear stick's opinion on Spirit of Shankly's chances. There could be an unexposed one lurking in there in the shape of Busty Brown. Decent form as a novice, won the Grade 2 Monksfield and a neck 2nd to Our Vinnie in a Grade 3 over 3 miles, before being off the track for 15 months with injury. Comeback run beginning of March finished 3rd to Sailors Warn and Thousand Stars over a totally inadequate trip and a mark of 140 could be very generous here.
16:05 Southwell - Under Approval (Have had a bit of the 3/1 available for this 5f dash on the Fibresand. Consistent and well-drawn with decent speed figures, so should be thereabouts at the finish).
Granylyn ruby went well at 16f lto and could give fav bert the alert a run for his money 4s Blue oyster should go well again with kelly onboard 5/2 places Appease should go well to
2013: (24 ran) Tartan Snow, Age 13, Wgt 12 - 0, SP 100/1 - Mr J Hamilton / W Coltherd Be nice to find another one...
I remember tearing up my betting slip and there was this lass screaming down her mobile phone that she'd just backed the winner and had won 250 quid - she'd had 1.50 e/w on the tote and it paid 140.40 the win and 28.60 the place. She actually looked like a nice lass too, not one of the gravy-basted slappers
No mention of Kingsbarns or Johann Strauss disgraceful performance from the forum both very short but hopefully winners. Wouldn't touch them at the prices obviously but looking forward to watching them.
If they aint trained by **** uk jump yards and rated under 100 over fences after at least 30 runs we aint interested
Odddy Boris I see you are against Kingsbarns fella Two for me today CEELO 3.25 Lingfield 10/1. Will be going in sometime soon probs not today if the market is any guide but blahhh E.W bet MYSTIC PRINCESS 6.10 Leopardstown 5/1. Went on to my Nag Me Alerts list after a decent run on the opening day of the flat season when racing solo on the far side. Handicap debut tonight and 66 looks a fair mark
Aye Kingsbarns obviously different class, but it wouldnt be the first time one of those different class Obrien horses got turned over first time in Ireland by one that got an easy lead Usually from the same stable right enough Was really taken by Qewy when he won his maiden, tailed off on his next two runs but drop back in trip and return to soft ground should suit and I think there is a good chance he could get a very easy lead.
Lads, How soon do race cards come out before an event? I am going to Newcastle Races on Saturday. If they're out now where can I view them? Cheers in advance
Bob,not completely sure about their youth set up only that is under the BSA (Barcelona Sporting Academy) banner which coaches and developes young players through the ranks to the first team..most of their big stars are products of this. I'd imagine it is similar to the Athletic Bilbao model which developes kids and youth talent through from 8 years old to the first team ideally.Obviously it is their lifeblood given that they only play Basques and buying them from other clubs is expensive because of this caveat. Atlético and Seville also have notable academies. In fact the Spanish Football Federation run numerous academies for school kids and have around 20,000 UEFA "A and Pro licence coaches, more than double that in other Euro countries. These guys study for 750 hours for the qualification compared to 245 hours in the UK. It shows tbh. I wonder will Qatar, who sponsor Barcelona and host the 2022 WC,lobby FIFA on their behalf?...the Qataris after all have the latter on their payroll... It is indeed touching that FIFA are so concerned with youth welfare...shame they don't give a toss about the slaves dying daily in Qatar constructing their White Elephant of 2022...
I wonder who Barney fancies in the re scheduled Royal Artillery GC up nuxt at Wincs? I know he'll be keeping a keen eye on the event and outcome....
..Christ I forgot Friday was "Ladies Day" at the GN...love all those tangoed trollops running around almost naked in single figure temperatures and sideways rain...Mre Rooney leading the pack as always! No offence Red..I'm sure most of the Liverpool Lasses are lovely!
Haha, by the sound of that, I expect Stick has just purchased a ticket from the touts and started on the cider!!
