Good idea, Cyc, would have a real chance as long as Tamerlo is available to ride him...........................
If Frankel stays in the Juddmonte their bound to at least consider the Arc. I hope so as I backed him each way for it in April before the Guineas (I think it was the same time I done my Guineas / Derby double on him) Amazing performance but I suspect Canford run below par, he hung very badly late on a la Workforce. But credit to Frankel best horse on day won. Amazing animal.
If the plan really is to go for the Juddmonte International over York’s flat ten-and-a-half furlongs, that suits me fine as I was going there anyway. I do seem to recall that Teddy Grimthorpe stated a couple of weeks ago that it was unlikely, but it is sponsored by Khalid Abdulla and it would set up a potential showdown with So You Think. Reading Queally’s comments, he did not want to be in front. I think that they will have a pacemaker if he goes to York so they can settle him in behind.
You wont see Frankel as a 4yo, no way. He will retire unbeaten(if he stays sound) at the end of the season
I think if Frankel was ever put over 12f, others would be plotting to burn him up as early as possible to expose any stamina doubts. Mind you they tried that with Ribot in his second Arc and none of the pacemakers could keep up with him, so you never know. Personally though I can't see Frankel winning a 12f G1 unless they went very steady early on and it became tactical. Obviously none of the opposition would allow that to happen. But over 8f he seems unbeatable. Thinking back to his earlier race, the only thing that's needed to make him a GREAT miler (for me) is for him to run in a race where they go hell for leather from the start and clock an exceptionally fast time with Frankel winning head in chest. Not easily pleased am I? Canford Cliffs should have finished further in front of RDP and would have had he not drifted left (yet again). But that would have put him still a good 2l+ behind Frankel who was simply brilliant and appeared not to be extended.
We could ring him in. Get eight stone five on him, throw a half shot Tam, Oddy or Eez into the plate, and Bob's ya' uncle. Of the two who don't get the ride, we could get 'em fighting aout behind the piss sheds, to see which of them can punch, then lob the winner into the boxing tent for another killing.
Dexter, at the rate they are spending money and their income is falling, I'd guess another 5 years at the most.
I think we will see him at four, because I can't see him being sent across to the Breeder's Cup this year with it being at Kentucky.
eddie, if Workforce were not on the scene I'd agree with you. I just can't see that Juddmonte would send two top class colts to stud in the same year unless they really had to. Juddmonte only have one stallion farm in Europe, in Newmarket, so it's not like they could do what Darley do and send one to Ireland.
Timmy Murphy as splendid as ever I see over the obstacles. Joy to watch him when in that sort of form.
Brough Scott has just tweeted the sectional times from the Sussex: broughscott Brough Scott Frankel technical proof . Last 4 furlongs - 11.16, 10.13, 11.46 and last furlong12.03. 10.13 ! Crikey thats 42 mph.
Well done Danbo, nice touch landed. Shame Declan didn't win a bit more cleverly!! Its a nice improver is BPG.
