I don't know what's happening to British flat racing - owners like Godolphin, George Strawbridge, Middleham Park Racing, The Niarchos Family and Coolmore running horses in a Class 5 maiden at a Kempton evening meeting towards the end of October. Am I missing something? If we were to go back 20 or 30 years, were the Maktoum family, the Niarchos family, the Aga Khan, Khalid Abdullah or Robert Sangster sat their twiddling their thumbs, thinking "**** me if only we had an all-weather meeting at Kempton tonight, we could run a few there". I don't understand it.
I could have ended up with egg on my face today had BABY SHINE not clipped the fourth last and come down. She was travelling mightily well at the time. She is none the worse for her experience and should go in everyones notebooks to remind me to back her next time.

Godolphin own over 400 horses Oddy and MPR are also expanding so there are fewer opportunities for them without running 5 in each race..not quite the March camel festival yet! Also the ground is likely to go very soon and connections also may want an insight into keepers and dispersal material before season ends,as well as getting some experience into the slow burners.
