Blown away by that and I have never been a massive fan of the horse. A seriously exciting horse. Best bumper horse to go jumping in years

You couldn't have spelt it out any clearer RV. Always been a fan of the horse but I also hadn't realised his form was that good. Looks like his early promise is being fulfilled.

Well done to all those who backed Cue Card...he certainly led them a merry dance !

Agreed Steveo.....Sprinter Sacre remains "the King" !

Boston Bob..thanks for the praise...let's hope the Placepot is landed....am secretly hoping that Hinterland is unplaced so the dividend can be reasonable, otherwise ,with Cue Card winning ,it doesn't look to have much chance of being above 25 pounds maximum !

The owner of Edgardo Sol has just advised he will deffo come on for the run and will look to run in the races with higher prize money and try to be placed in those too !

I have a sneaky feeling Wayward Frolic is a horse to keep onside this season. Today I can only see hinterland winning but in the not too distant future i'd expect this French gelding to be fairly competitive in some decent early season novice chases. The Nick Williams team often improved 25lbs last season for a run at this time of the year so anything he does today will be massively improved upon next time out (I think).

Put him up on Sunday Bostonbob and he fell at the first <doh> certainly is an interesting type. I see Hinterland winning this by half the track though. Obviously wouldn't catch me backing a 1/3 shot first time over fences though

He was unfairly overrated as the 2nd coming of pegasus before the Supreme. He ran a very good race behind 3 top quality horses (Sprinter Sacre, Spirit Son, Al Ferof). He was then discarded by most as a hype horse. He seems to have improved for fences and for me even before today was in the top 10 chasers in the country easy. That 2nd to Sprinter Sacre was on merit. Let's not overreact, he hasn't beaten Grade 1 horses but I think he can (not convinced over 3 miles tbh). It's been profitable punting his form too when For Non Stop somehow was allowed to go off 7/2 on Free Friday at Newbury. This is a class horse and it's time to sit up and take note.

I'd expect Champagne Fever and Don Cossack to rival everything Cue Card achieves but obviously potential isn't the same as achievement.

Are we really getting carried away with Cue Card everyone? What did he actually beat there? Menorah looks like he wants 3miles. Edgardo Sol isn't top notch.I know he's battered them but I can' believe that performance is worthy of much more than a raised eye brow.

Backed Champagne Fever in the bumper last season <ok> goes straight over fences which is surprising considering they have your namesake for fences this season and they both look like stayers. Can't be having Champagne Fever going the Arkle route not quick enough. It is a totally different game though look at all the bumper winners they are always overhyped and rarely achieve anything.

If Sprinter Sacre not run in the Arkle then CUE CARD would have won it by 22 lengths.
but I suppose because he didn't win he has gone a little under the radar.

His jumping impressed me today - has the makings of a top class chaser.

You are being unfair on Cue Card,Boston Bob !

No matter which way you look at that...he was impressive there !

Meanwhile, less than 2 hours to go on my latest quiz question...any further players there ?

I thought OddDog knew the answer...maybe he was just saying that to amuse Ron !

It's a shame there's no competition today because Hinterland is a total hype horse imho.

If Champagne Fever goes the Arkle it will solidify my view that Willie Mullins is a poor trainer of chasers. Yes, I said it and I mean it. How many potentially great chasers have not gotten anywhere near their potential under his guidance? I'll start you all off with Cooldine and we can go from there.

CF should be tacking hurdles this season imho but with the sad loss of Sous Les Cieux Willie has said there's an opening. Bad move Mr Mullins.

If Hinterland jumps he wins. The weight allowance is surely too big today.
