Captain Chris would have won that i think. Plenty of opportunities to win my money back later in the year. Money lent rather than money lost.

Dickie needs to be more positive on him.

Blimey, funny old race, I need to rewatch and take all of that in again!

Captain Chris jumped supremely better than anything for the first 3 quarters of the race, then suddenly looked under pressure, rallied and started staying on massively, I believe was just in front at the final fence but unseated Dickie Johnson on landing?! I think that is what happened.

Ghizao hugely disappointing, Medermit possibly the fittest of them all.

    You jammy bugger Toppy!!

I must say he was just getting motoring at the last. Alan King admitted that he thought Captain Chris would have won.

Please go to the King George Phillip. He will give Long Run a run for his money. Taken the 9/1 with Paddy Power.

Completely agree, he would relish 3m at Kempton.

He didn't half come with a run towards that final fence, he looked beat for all money 2 out!

That was one I got away with but I think it indicated one of the main points of this lay betting experiement- and that is that when the race was as close as that, it wasn't unjustifiable for me to lay a horse of CC's quality, if that makes sense?

    Good God almighty.

What do we say about that.

Never want to see races like that and I don't want to lay horses that don't finish. Unbelieveable.

I hope Sam Winner is okay, and also Richard Johnson.

Crikey another dramatic race - hope horses and jockeys are OK; another successful lay Toppy <applause>

Bloody hell Toppy. Have you bought a lottery ticket today?!

Ona more serious note Johnson looked like he might have got his foot caught in the stirrup. Good to see Sam Winner and Menorah up and ok.

Matched at 999/1 in running. Serves the idiot who offered it right. Can never be that price unless its on the floor in a 3 runner affair.

Seems Dickie is ok as well which is good to hear. Not a day he will want to remember. Should have had two winners and instead hits the deck twice. Plenty of good days ahead with both horses which should be some compensation.

Can't say I feel delighted by any means after the two lay bets.

I think I was right to play the percentages in the layers favour but clearly there are two smart prospects that have not won today that are capable of bigger and better things.

    The season is hotting up.

"Not particularly fluent at times, close up, jumped right 2nd, ridden when slightly outpaced after 4 out, strong run after 2 out, narrow advantage when stood off too far and landed on last, soon unseated rider who had little chance, looked unlucky"

I wouldn't disagree with that. I think he seems to flourish in a more competitive environment. He is a little ungainly at his fences and so benefits from a very positive approach. He is one who needs 'rousting' in. I would criticise Dickie Johnson today for being a bit indecisive and a bit cautious on him.

And i hear the poor chap has hit the deck again. Not a good day at the office. Can only hope he's ok and that he gets his confidence back quickly. Must be difficult after suffering three consecutive falls, especially on well fancied horses in good races holding every chance.
