Described by his trainer as the horse in his yard that disappointed him the most last season DAWN COMMANDER 6.05 Stratford really should be winning in this grade off his current mark. His work at home recently has been sparkling and it will be a shock to all involved if he doesn't run a huge race here. He is as good over hurdles as he is over fences and he is primed and ready to go.
Since putting him up on Mondays thread thirty minutes ago he has gone from 14's to 10's!

Chepstow 550 HIGHLIFE DANCER looks absolutely way over priced withbetfair 16s. Admitably freefalling down the ratings but could be ideally weighted now and the ideal distance should help intrestingly charles bishop has a 33% strike rate on board and highlife has a near on 25% win rate on the flat

The 6:05 has been agony for me to decide so I should probably have left it alone. I had it between Topolski, Sticks tip, Court In Session and Staigue Fort. Ended up plumping for Topolski but if it has no chance jumping the last I will be cheering Dawn Commander for the forum - probably kicking myself a bit too lol!!

with all the rain about --going to be some 'distorted' results me thinks.

with that in mind i shall chance a lucky 15 again,
Red Runaway 4 00 Y-- ed dunlop's beast may well be ready to strike again--had a blow out lto--will handle the ground
R Woody 5 30 Y- was withdrawn from brighton yesterday--possibly for a better chance today( track)
Kyllachy Rise--Hannons bf-will like the ground--stable havin a purple patch(again)
Dawn Commander-- for all the above reasons--may well handle the ground as good as anything else !

Morning, pinstickers. Hope everyone well.

Have deployed the ‘no bet’ banner again today but I’m sure one horse that all ‘Corrie’ fans are looking forward to seeing making her debut is old girl Hilda Ogden up at Thirsk (4.10). If I can be serious for a minute backing horses named after ‘Corrie’ characters is, of course, one of the best ‘systems’ around as successes for the likes of Leanne, Barlow, Deidre and Dev in recent years confirm.

Meanwhile, I see that another of Mr Henderson’s old stars has left his barn for a new stable. Burton Port to Jonjo O’Neill. Jonjo O’Neill, cor blimey, what on earth can he do that Mr Henderson can’t?!? Why Burton Port, who hasn’t run for 17 months and owes connections nothing, couldn’t have simply been retired I have no idea.

I see the Longsdon horse in the bumper is getting backed. Not saying it wont win but I know they have another bumper horse in the yard that is ten lengths better! The Greatrex horse looked impressive on debut, I think odddy put it up!

Now that the rain has come Rude I wouldn't be surprised about some distorted results. I live about 12 miles from Stratford and its been raining steadily for the last hour or so and doesn't look like stopping just yet which leads me to believe I have made a cock up by sticking Topolski in my Yankee - needs good ground.
 
Stick, I see that current connections paid a whopping £80k for Dawn Commander after he won his Wexford Maiden Hurdle almost 2 years ago. If he&#8217;s ever going to recoup that loot then he should scoot in off 125 this evening. Good luck, old boy.

In the same race I see Robert &#8216;Choc&#8217; Thornton returns after several months on the sidelines. He rides Letsby Avenue which is, of course, the punchline to a very, very old joke! But I&#8217;ve said it before and I&#8217;ll say it again if I was Alan King I&#8217;d be looking elsewhere. Harsh, maybe, but sometimes you have to be, I&#8217;m afraid.
 
Good luck all with this 'Dawn Commander' - hope he scoots in... I have decided to swerve it mainly due to weather conditions which may well have a big say in that race due off this evening... You make these decisions and thats a decision Ive made today.

No emotion for me but I hope for those on here who've backed it he wins.

I agree SBC about Choc. Not the jockey he once was, too many injuries and Wayne Hutchinson deserves the top jock for King after all this time IMO.

Yes looking forward to the return to National Hunt as I much prefer it to the flat - its just more exciting to watch. The flat with these sprints - I mean it does get on your nerves - you could run them 5 or 6 times and get a different result every time and hear about lots of different hard luck stories too..
 
whilst prefering the NH scene--i do find flat racing intruiging-- especially handicaps--where you always looking for an angle to beat da bookie.
