Hanagan has done well as he didnt get many top, top rides last year did he... Most of his were for Fahey wernt they...??? Not that im dissing any of the Fahey runners...
Been through all 3 cards for today, i like a bit of a big priced type but sadly today I cant see past the favourites in every race, could pay a handsome return.
Will ‘King’ Kieren come in for the rides that De Sousa will no longer have for old boy Johnston (De Sousa will still ride for the yard but obviously not as much as last term)??? I’d make the ‘King’ a hot favourite now as although prestigious appointments both De Sousa and Hanaghan will not be gaining more winners as a result.
Will Fallon want to go for the championship though? He is getting a bit long in the tooth for all that malarkey. Surely Champion Jockey has to be Mr M's for the taking if he manages to stay fit.
Hughes must be in with a chance if he goes for it right from the off. Hannon guaranteed to supply a hefty number.
I'm a little surprised at Hanagans appointment...great opportunity for him to show he can compete in the big events. I believe he has only ridden one G1 winner and none in the UK.He hasn't had many chances tbf.
The handicap entry that I most wanted, at Cheltenham, has materialised. However, I’m not certain the old boy will get in. Do any of the great brains on the forum know what is typically the lowest rating for horses to get in the ‘Freddie Winter’???
Agree RV..He stated what a strain it was on his domestic life and will surely welcome the chance to strive for quality over quantity..he aready has two titles in the bag. Love the Sir Alex bit...his team taking back good weed from Amsterdam...
Right since its payday, penultimate salary of my gardening leave,i'm off to the alehouse. No bets planned but a half gallon or so might oil my analytical wheels. GL all.
Thanks, Nass. Chill is rated 119 but is out this Sunday at Naas. So I’m guessing he’ll need to win that to have any chance of getting in.
Red Inca and Kazlian both entered up too, my ideas of Fred Winter horses. The latter may go for the Triumph mind
109 got you in last year. Others have been 122, 119, 121, 122, 117, 111. I know Alan King thinks Vendor is lobbed in on 129.
Wrong 'un Dex. He was hired by the betting firm I get corporate from at Cheltenham, he went through the card mentioning the Twisters horses only most of the time, half the races he didn't mention the winner (Captain Chris, Sizing Europe both spring to mind) and of course come Gold Cup he said that Imperial Commander was in better shape than the year before and that all the media negativity was exagerated and he expected to win the race dismissing everything else etc etc etc. I know they can't get it right all the time but just some honesty, IC was never right before or during last years Gold Cup.....
