That's the one Nass - they are rolling her up and down wrapped in cling film. It's a frightening sight

England 26-3. Those pesky pakistani bowlers are bowling straight again.

Seems that Pakistan's bowler's have it all over the Indians out here. They're bloody useless.

Morning, troops. Hope everyone well. Good, good.

Had an Excellent with a capital 'E' day at Newbury yesterday although must admit that my report card at the end of the day only showed 'broke even'. The headlines were taken by Grumeti (came down at the second last when well clear), Cedre Bleu (won, but didn’t convince and his jumping wasn't great) and Chapoturgeon (who romped away with the hunters chase) but if my regular readers want a couple of eyecatchers to take from the meet perhaps they should add to the old notebook both SUNNY LEDGEND (almost belied a penalty and huge odds in the novice hurdle. Is a likeable gutsy type who should always be a nice price due to his unfashionable connections) and LORD OF THE DUNES (Tizzard horse who stayed on very nicely on his NH bow in the bumper. Will be much better when upped to 2 miles and looks one to watch very closely). However, did I see a 2012 Festival winner yesterday...no, I don't think so.

Haven't even looked at today's action yet but apparently the 'buzz' horse is the Irish one at Wolverhampton for whom the Turner girl has been booked.

I wasn't being ironic Cyc - all they are doing is chucking down stright deliveries, the English batsmen are getting out to stupid shots. Rubbish.

15:30 Lingfield - Dar Es Salaam

(James Moffatt brings two to Lingfield (first and last races) all the way down from Cartmel, Cumbria. Not sure about Spirit Of A Nation in the first as not at all sure he'll get the trip on soft going, certainly could be wrong there? Prefer a small punt on selection who could do well in this sort of event).

GL today everyone! <ok>

I do like the look of the Twister's horse Civil Servant in the 1.40 at Ludlow. Been knocking on the door last 2 runs with Sam on board and now William takes over and claims 7lbs

Pricewise has this morn put up both Sire de Grugy and Mr Henderson’s Soldatino for Newbury’s Betfair Hurdle (was the Totesport Trophy) at Newbury next month. Not surprisingly both are now being backed as if there is no tomorrow.

It would be interesting to know someone who works in the odds making offices of these bookies, I wouldn't mind betting they hardly take a bean on these horses but because Segal says positive things they slash their odds such is the power he appears to have.
You see it in every ring (less so now since the exchanges inception) where bookies scrub the price without taking a bet, they run scared to avoid a hiding.
Reminds of that Panarama episode on Barney Curley a few years ago, not a bet was struck but one reporter walking into a branch of every high st bookie wanting £10K on one of his runners (and being refused) managed to get the opening show price down to 8/1 (was 20/1 in the morning) purely on rumour of a plunge.....
